  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I wish Reduser had a graveyard for closed threads. Those tend to be the ones that are the most interesting... and the hardest to find.

Sometimes Jim's post are like a freight train in the night... they come roaring through then disappear. That's why it pays to stay up late around here sometimes. :wink5:
 
No, it's Jim's World. He has total power. The difference is that he doesn't make us look at building sized pictures of his benevolent self smiling down on us while we starve to death. He just deletes threads sometimes. I think I'll take thread deletion over starvation any time. :)
 
I think Jim sometimes says stuff on here that the wouldn't be understood by the general public, or could be misconstrued by competitors in a damaging way. Most treads this happens to contain what some who don't understand him would call trash talk (actually just uncencored comentary on reality). I am just glad he feels he can be open with the faithfull. :-) There are ways, to feed on these posts after deletion, but you only get his first post of the thread. A. Thread grave yard would be nice, but it would have to have restricted access to keep the trouble makers from leaking quotes that would be misunderstood.

To be honest, his arrogance annoys me. It's not like Red hasn't had it share of problems. Backorder problems, unstability/unreliability, release delay after delay after delay after delay just to name a few.
I'm all for stirring up the competition, but i'd let my actions speak for me rather than going off on a rant if i were leading Red.

But I think they're dying to show off fun stuff at NAB...

This NAB seems to become the most interesting since 2008, if you're a camera geek... :)
 
consider those posts a perk of reading the forum late night when they pop up, most entertaining...

just like disappearing Easter Eggs on DVD's...
 
I think it's a pretty safe to say that Jim is a passionate guy. Maybe it's late, he's thinking/feeling things over and root inspiration hits him - the thing that drives him. He wants to get it out, like we all do. He expresses himself in a way that late night typing only allows.

Well then it's the next day. And his trusteds give him give him the look. Maybe it was too too direct, too honest, too much - we talked about this before - you said you didn't want to do this - what happened? Your better angels went to sleep too early?

You go Jim! Let those flags fly! You and your team are mighty. You shook it up. I don't care how much they pretend they were going there anyway - you can still feel them dragging their feet.

Sometimes it's great around here! I hope Red never becomes too sane and safe.
