Helium sensor glitch?

After using my S35 Helium for a month and mostly shooting in 4K, last week shooting in 6.5K on each clip there was a vertical string of 'hot pixels' always in the same area of the sensor. I am attaching two .jpgs to show the pixels.

What is the procedure to fix/correct this?

Should I restore the firmware to the deffault original state .. then upgrade to the latest firmware?

Should I do a sensor recalibation and if so.... manual or automatic?

If these two steps will not correct the issue is there a Red email addy in support to send the jps to somthey can suggest a fix?

Thanks!

While I agree with the thought of black shading (actually I'd do a manual to see if it goes away and then follow up with an automatic), I do find it fairly strange that these are all in a row. I'd file a support ticket no matter what, and link the RED Team some R3D grabs and a log file.

Yes I have sent the still grabs to Red Support. Thanks formthe suggestions
Hi Chris, this is the most important thing. There is no guarantee that they will see this post on RU. You want to get them an R3D (Single frame should be fine) and a log file.

Thanks Stacey. I sent a still file to "charles" @ Red. He did not ask for a log file but did make sure that I am running the latest firmware. He also asked if it ocuured on every clip (which it did) and what 3rd party peripherals I was running with the Helium.

I have the same problem, I've chatted with the RED support team. But we haven't quite found where the problem is. It shows up sometimes and then not. Blackshading seemed to help but when I loaded up the previous blackshade the problem was gone too. Have you found a definitive way to reproduce this problem?

Hello..
I using my S35 Helium last week shooting in 4K on each clip there was a irregular patron 'darkly o color pixels' always in the same area (left) of the sensor...

Had the same problem with my first Helium. It was swapped out completely after 4 times of repair. Don´t know what it was. a straight line of pixels was shut of randomly. No problem with the new one since 4 years.

The same thing is happening with our s35. I have black-shaded 4 times and even on the factory shade, it shows up. When I go to an old shade the line is gone. I have updated the firmware but still no luck.

That doesn’t look like the same issue as the OP, although I have seen this same line you are getting Kyle during in-camera media playback on my Helium- but it isn’t actually recorded into the clips when viewed on desktop. Could you confirm if this screen grab is from in-camera or from RCX, etc? It may help to keep the thread clearer.

Thanks,
Dusty

I'm having the same issue with the helium sensor in my Epic-W. at 8K there's a line of dead pixels on the right frame side which is recorded on the footage as well.
When the sensor is cropped to 6K its gone but the camera is unusable in 8K anymore. Sometimes after blackshading the line goes away but then reapers again after a few minutes of shooting or turning the camera on and off a couple of times.

here's a video of the issue:

I spoke to RED customer service after sending them the log file and they said its definitely a sensor/ hardware issue but the repair costs outweigh the value of the camera by now unfortunately. Case for the insurance and patiently waiting for DSMC 3 :/
