Helium R3D files (any size/resolution) create pink screen in FCPX

I purchased the EW & received delivery week 1 of release and have NEVER been able use FCPX to process R3D files. It only shows a pink screen & crashes FCPX. Opening in Resolve works but I don't know how to use Resolve, and I know plenty of folks that use FCPX & Helium files without issue.

Anyone else have this problem, and has there been a solution yet? I'm not on beta OS, I have upgraded to the newest firmware on the EW, I have tried a total wipe & reinstall of the OS & FCPX. I have verified my processor is the same as other folks that have the same set up, no problems. I have downloaded the newest red plug in for FCPX, newest FCPX....

Any other ideas? Kinda bummer to only be able to shoot prores on this machine...

I have the same, and I already contacted Red, Apple and Intel.
I think the issue is the combination of Sierra+Intel Graphic based Card (we have the same mac configuration) in fact if you try to export a R3D file from redcine to prores, you will have OPEN CL ERROR, so this mena you need to disable the open cl in the redcine menu to make it work, this never happened before sierra update.

In Resolve no problem at all.
The only solution will be to downgrade IOS, but I will not do it as I don't like to be "old" with my system...other solution...to buy a new MAC ...lol.....

My works are quite quick, so I mostly shot in pro res (using for now the flat Redlog film) hopefully one day we can have the new IPP2 color graded backed in the pro res file. When I need a R3D file I just import in resolve the export in pro res.

P.s. R3D files from Scarlet W works perfect!

What's weird is there appears to be ZERO other humans on the web that have Sierra, FCPX, & an Intel card! You and I have posted about this everywhere and never has another person reached out to say they have that same set up. I don't even get how that's possible. But since there's only 2 dudes in the world that have the issue, you can believe there will be zero effort to fix it since it's not a priority affecting many people.

Happens on my MacBook Pro 15" with intel card with any red footage above 5k in fcpx.

I Chalked it up to the graphics card giving up before it tried to render all that info.

Going into my iMac or MacPro has no issues. everything on sierra.

For what it's worth I tried the same footage on the new MacBook Pro 15" at apple and it had no issues. Just $3000 to get rid of the magenta ;)

In the preferences does any other card show up in the OpenCL screen besides the Intel Iris card?

If no, then disable OpenCL and see if that works for you.

I've had issues with the Intel graphics in my Hackintosh, so I've set it so OpenCL only uses the AMD card.
