I'm fairly sure that Jared said somewhere that Weapon owners will have a Helium upgrade... I'll try to dig it up and post it here!

Ya there will be upgrade path for Weapon to Helium for sure, especially CF weapon. Just wondering if that opens up in October to those of us that didn't buy in 8KVV upgrade at NAB or will have to wait for a later date as they will be processing 8KVV switchers to Helium in Oct.

I think you always have to take manufacturers claims - even JL's, with that proverbial grain of salt. I've heard so many claims from so many camera and and camera gear makers over the decades that I am always somewhat wary of future product hyperbole and find that the best plan is to wait, see and test things in person, then make decisions. I'm not being pessimistic here, just cautious because as I stated earlier in this thread; half-pixels is a new potentially game-changing technology which we have at this point seen no white papers or technical discussions about.

I'm anxious to view a live Helium display, hopefully they will have one at the Red Store in Hollywood soon to check out.

On the helium, how is the 4K prores recording derived from the 8k sensor?
super sampling or line skipping?
