Helium 8K record issue in R3D only

First post here ladies and gents so please be nice.

Have RED Helium 8K with EF mount using Sigma 50mm Prime F1.4 lens, all genuine RED kit.

Recording at 8K, 25fps, iso 250, shutter 50, compression 8.1, codec R3D.
No errors on the screen and everything looks great but on playback I get random blocking.


If I switch to any resolution it remains but if I switch to ProRes codec the playback image is perfect.

The camera is on the latest firmware.

Anyone come across this before?

Sounds / looks like it could be an issue with your minimag. Have you tried different minimags? Does formatting in-camera help?

Na tried new mini mag and formatted it in the camera and had the same results.
