  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Heard of Epic-M not booting

Would be good to know which firmware has been installed, if this is indeed a firmware glitch.
Just to avoid that build...

Cheers!
And all the best!

Dude - his camera just died on a commercial shoot and you say, "Cheers! All the best!"

Wow man, talk about cultural differences.

My condolesnces to you, Philip. I hope you brought a backup camera. Never do I sweat so much in life as when there is a technical problem on set with a camera I am using.

Everything worked well at RMA Support Team.

Thanks to all involved and so sorry for the delay in report back the fixed thing.
Cheers
I am in contact with the support.
They will solve this soon...
I'll report what hapenned soon as possible.
Cheers,

So I know this thread is a little old--in fact I remember reading on Philip Bloom's blog about his Epic situation before I ever dreamed of becoming a RED owner. Well here I am, the day after my first shoot with my battle tested Red One MX, and I'm supposed to be shooting an indie short all weekend. My first gig. We get on set, try to boot the camera from the Red brick via the quickplate, and nothing. It's just dead. Plugged the camera into AC, works great every time. The rental house where we got all of our accessories, sticks, etc. was kind enough to open up way after hours on a Friday night and tested multiple batteries, multiple quickplates, all with the same outcome. Won't boot from batteries, will boot from AC power. My Red One MX is running build 31.6.16, the one it shipped to me with. If anyone comes across this thread, please help! We've shut down for the night, and are in danger of losing the entire weekend. Our meager budget can't really handle a hit like this. Being new to Red, I don't know if there's an "after hours emergency" support office to contact...anyone? I'm in Los Angeles, minutes from Red Studios but I'll drive anywhere I have to to save the shoot. Thanks guys.

Christopher

Gee Christopher, I hope someone can help you. I think there is a way to contact Red via the phone on the weekend but I've never hit an issue yet to have to contact them. Perhaps one of the moderators can jump in.

Thanks Wil, I appreciate that. I'm really hoping someone sees this that has had this issue before and can shed some light on what's happening. I'm going to look up and see if there's a weekend number for Red. I put in a support ticket right away, but I don't know if I should expect a response over the weekend.
