  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

HDV Tape Dropout

Obviously you have Transfer Speed problems. Where is your source media??

It's not the tapes.

Some times after the Quicktime Conversion export, there will be drop outs in the actual .mov file...but my timeline is fine?

What do you mean my source media?

If you have made a Complete episode Master File why do you have to render again when printing it out?

Are you working from a laptop or Desktop?

If i were to go straight form my timeline and go to Print To Tape, it would take forever. So that's why I conform it and make it a movie file.

iMac, 3 gigs of RAM, 3.06 GHZ processore..

You should always conform it before printing out if possible. What codec are you printing to tape? HDV is pretty general.

What's the proper way to conform?

How can I check what codec I'm using to tape? Sequence settings?

I know that I'm rendering in the 422 option

Once I'm done editing the show and I'm ready to go to tape, what's the proper steps to go to Tape.

Export the file as a Quicktime Movie? Then select my in and outs and hit Print to tape?

Your doing a few steps that are unnecessary, but the one that's probably causing the glitch is playing your media from the desktop. Try playing it from another location, like a fast external drive.

As for conforming, if you captured via firewire, using the correct capture preset for the Z1 then you wont have to conform anything.
