hdmi to dvi - but still no signal

i've connected the red to a monitor (tried several in fact) by hdmi to dvi using THIS adaptor

i don't get a signal. general knowledge seems to be that EVERY hdmi/dvi solution works. so - did i miss some camera settings?

again - i tried different/several cables and monitors just to make sure it's not a broken piece of equipment. (unless of course it's the very hdmi port on the camera that's broken...)

any help much appreciated!

Tried it a few months ago. The 23" Apple Cinema Displays both did not work. My 150.- Euro Syncmaster 21" did.

so just to make sure:

there is NO camera setting that could prevent the camera from outputting the hdmi signal? (ie nothing i could have done wrong in the camera menu)

right?
