Hi guys,

Im currently preping my gear for a shoot on the weekend and I wanted to test the output options when I discovered this problem.

I connected my RED via an HDMI cable to a Benq HD 22" screen. As soon as I connect the HDMI cable to the RED, the camera freezes up, image still works but I cant get out of the menu or change any options.

When I turn the camera off and on again, It wont even boot properly while the HDMI cable is attached.

I tried the same thing with an HDMI to DVI cable.....and I got an image on the screen. But not via HDMI with an HDMI cable..

Am I just doing something wrong or did anyone else discover the same problem ??

This is with Built 17 btw.

HDMI to DVi is usually the only option for now.

Hi guys, thanks for pointing this out.

I haven't shot on Red yet (only edit), but am gearing up for a production.

I will try HDMI out and if it freezes- How do I get to DVI?

Use the HDMI port with a converter cable?
Or does the camera have a DVI port?

Sorry for these questions, rather basic.

We are actively working this issue, but for now best to use an HDMI to DVI cable, that is known to always work.

The HDMI to HDMI issue is complex, there are many panels that will work O.K, but apparently several that wont.
