I have been trying to use the HDMI output to a Panasonic and Pioneer Plasma.
Blank screen, any suggestions?

Paul

Mine seems to work just fine into a philips....Seems to me the more problematic side is the monitor side...making sure that you go into the menu setup and be sure you have the correct HDMI input selected on the monitor as well as the proper channel. Usually you'll find something within that setup that is not right instead of the camera side.

Stating the obvious here, but reset your cable connection with the hdmi on your camera. There have been times when my monitor did not come on, usually after having been unplugged from the hdmi port. Unplugging and then reconnecting it would always solve the problem.

Have tried the your suggestions , is there anything in the menue that has to be changed apart from DVI/SDI

Paul

I have the same problem with one of my two cameras.
One camera outputs signal from the HDMI while the other does not.
This was not always the case, the culprit camera previously had its output displaying images via HDMI on some external monitors.

Did you get the green bar down the left hand side while it was initialising and then no picture or was it no picture all the way through?

PS I hope Nigeria beat South Korea By enough goals to get them through tonight

No picture all the way through.

Well lets hope the players get their act together.

African football through and through, did you see Cameroon anly start playing in the Danish game? Ivory coast... what happened? SAfrica couldn't defend a set of five-a-side nets. I'm so sad. Nigeria and Ghana my last hope.

Back to business though, aparently you can get the menus on an HDMI link if you use a DVI interface, and people have mentioned summat about compatibilty. I wouldn't have a clue what would make a monitor compatible so if a Red fella could give us the parameters or a list of the monitors that comply with said parameters I think we'd be vastly appreciative.

I was checking on a new PVM-740 and it didny work, I don't know if it's the monitor or my camera.

I bought a samsung 32 inch today and booted the camera with the HDMI connected and it worked, ran out of time to do more tests today

Some monitors will not recognise the DVI Menu signal and consequently will not display. In this case, you should switch to the Video 720P Preview option - you will not see the menus, but you should see the monitoring picture.
I don't believe there is a list of monitors which do/do not recognise the DVI Menu signal.

my red used to work on all of my hdmi monitors. after it got upgraded to the mx sensor, hdmi output does not work on any of them except for one. i sent it in to red for repair but they claim it works on all of their own hdmi sources so as far as they are concerned it is working properly.

Just bought a Samsung UE32 in the UK and the HDMI and DVI out is working!

I have following monitor, and it not working, what seems to be the problem. I tried both option DVI menu & 720 Preview.

I just tested a Samsung SyncMaster 2494HM on HDMI out and got menus and everything - works great. I think, but don't know for sure, that most of the Samsungs that have HDMI plugs as well as DVI will all work correctly and show menus when you set up RED's menu to output to HDMI. Hope this helps. I have asked for a list before from RED and no one seems to have a current one.

HDMI and HD-SDI

HDMI and HD-SDI

Unfortunately it is impossible to test all available HDMI and DVI based monitors, but the majority work fine.

As Alan mentioned, the most likely cause will be the HDMI output is set to (DVI) MENUS and not 720p (VIDEO)

This is because 720p is a HD Video resolution signal and Menus outputs a larger frame size for a P.C Monitor.

And there is no difference in HDMI output on an M-X v's M sensor based RED ONE, nor across builds.
