So I plug my camera into our HD set and in preview it looks as if about a fourth of the image is falling off the right side of the screen. In playback mode it looks to be about half! ANyone know what to do about this?

THANKS! :)

difficult to tell what the picture is, but if you framed your TV screen, then yes, exactly :)

Yes, the frame is the actual screen.

This is a pic of a test I did with Build 18 v. 3.6.1. Red team is working hard to solve this problem, I am sure with the release build 18 everything will be fine.

well, I'm glad they're working on it. hopefully it will get fixed, because in the meantime it's pretty much useless :(

We've found this to be the case with some screens but not with others.

Problem has been around since at least B15 - no fix that I know of, other than to use a different screen/TV...

Cheers,
Dom.

Dvi (hdmi)

Dvi (hdmi)

This is an artifact with certain consumer HDMI sets.

The actual output on the RED ONE is DVI - which is pin compatible with the smaller HDMI connector connector, and generally speaking you don't see this issue with P.C monitors.

However based on posts on this issue the Bravia series does seem prone to this.

I fixed this problem by using a DVi to HDMI cable and plugged the monitor in over DVi instead of HDMI. If this monitor has DVI

similar problem, though not as bad with my toshiba.

Out of interest, this is happening to me on a Panasonic Viera. Tried every combination of settings to sort it out, bought a HDMI-DVI cable before realising the monitor only has VGA! Any workarounds?

I'm having problems getting a picture on a Dell s2409Wb monitor with an HDMI lead. The quote above from Stuarts suggest to me that using an HDMI to DVI adapter to go into the monitor would cure the 'handshake' problem.
Has anyone had success with this method?

Sadly it didn't work.
Using the DVI input on the monitor and an HDMI to DVI adapter I still get no picture.

EDIT:
:hurray:
I got a Sony SDM-X93 LCD monitor to work [albeit with a stretched image as it is not 16:9].
And now i have got a Dell 2005FPW to work perfectly!
Weird how the 24009W won't work , but I no longer care!
