  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

HDMI Not Working on Base I/O Expander

A lot of people (me included) is experiencing problems with both SDI and HDMI outputs on those modules...

Some people find some workarounds...
What i do is turn off the output (Wich means, in monitor confing under HDMI uncheck the "enable" checkbox.) Close the window to save the settings and then enable it again

It's pretty damm annoying

Also, when we first got it, the only way to make it work was changing the Overlay to CLEAN and then back to RED OVERLAY.
I know it seems weird, but it was the only thing that make it work.

I've only used the HDMI port once before months ago, and it was working just fine. For whatever reason now, it's not functioning regardless of the cable we're using, or accessory (Teradek or TV Logic).

Also, we've ensured the second output is selected for HDMI, and the only other monitor we have it top-mounted 7".

Anyone else have this issue or have suggestions short of sending it into RED? On firmware 6.3.102
Just want to make sure you are not using the port on side of the camera vs. the top. If you use the port on the side, then HDMI output can't be used.

I've had a similar battle recently getting the HDMI out of our Weapon to work consistently (across different base expanders and even a different Epic-W camera) - in our setup which went camera -> HDFury Linker -> TV we had to power the camera on *last* for everything to handshake properly and the Linker to pick up a signal. And then any changes to fps/res/etc would cause it to drop and require a restart to handshake again. I didn't try Martin's approach of disabling/re-enabling the HDMI output in settings, but possibly that would have the same effect.
