Hi there,
Does anyone have any experience with the AJA HA5 HDMI to HD/SD-SDI (or similar) mini converter?
http://www.aja.com/html/products_converters_HA5.html
I was wondering if anybody has tried to capture with HD-SDI, 1080p, any frame rate, 10bit, 4:2:2 with embedded 24-bit/48KHz audio using a converter from the HDMI out on the RED ONE into FCP or AVID?? - Hope that made sense
This if it would work would be an amazingly quick workflow to get RED footage @ 1080p into an edit suite for web, SD, maybe HD finish.
I'm not trying to replace current established workflow practices, just feeling around for alternative routes/options. I know it may not be as pristine quality as the more laborious file based workflows and that I would lose matchback to source files but what an improvement in speed you would have
Cheers,
Tom
