Hi everyone,

have been trying to get used to the BT red one today but my monitor does not seem to show histogram or anything only the image. Was wondering how have people got around exposing probably (without having a light meter, only have an iphone one)? I also have an old russian Light meter but not sure how accurate it is or not.

Thanks

James

I had the same thing when I first fired up. You need to go into the menu and change from VIDEO (720P) to MENUS (DVI). Then everything should show up via hdmi.

You can also enable False Color Exposure mode to see a black and white picture on your display. But where the image is clipping whites shows up as red coloured areas, and where the image is going into the shadow noise floor shows up as purple areas.

Hi Chris,

I done what you said but still couldn't see any menu's. Don't know whats going on with the monitor, even all the title safe etc have all disappeared and I don't remember pressing anything to get rid of them.

I asked the bomb squad rep specifically about histogram display on HDMI and he had one of the techs hook an HDMI monitor up to the R1 and said it was there. Making me nervous...

Hmmm. I didn't see anything at first either until I reset the monitor itself. It was set for a Canon DSLR and was zoomed in too much to see the menu items at the top and bottom of the screen. Once I switched the monitor to a different view setting, it zoomed out a little and revealed all the menu items. I am using a SmallHD Dp4. Maybe that is the issue??

if your cross hair is an "X" you are zoomed in, thus getting rid of your framing lines....

Menus switched to DVI yes, and I've only been able to get full display on some monitors through the HDMI. What monitor are you using???
