When Jamming Timecode from an external source, (Like a Cantar playing back a song for a music video) I have noticed that the timecode on the monitor will update whenever I change the time or playback spot.

This is perfect.

However, when watching the TimeCode on the HD-SDI output, it does not update and show the change.

This is not perfect.

Hope it's just a little glitch!

Please tell me how to repair, or please fix this A.S.A.P.

Thanks RED fixer uppers

not sure what you mean - how are you looking at the TC on the HD-SDI output? - I am getting accurate TC on the SDI in playback and while shooting - can you give a more detailed account of what you are seeing (and/or not seeing) - I am curious - are you just talking about the TC displayed on the RED LCD? (this has never refreshed frame accurate)

Hey Mark,

using a JVC 17" flat panel with HD-SDI.
The the timecode at the bottom of the screen on the EVF and LCD will refresh and change according to the timecode source you are jamminig. In this case it's a playback file off the Cantar. If you stop playback, go back to 14:40:47 (The start of the song) the timecode at the bottom of the EVF/LCD will refresh in about 2 seconds and reflect this, However the timecode on the JVC monitor (via HD-SDI) does not change at all.

OH Mark.. The JVC will show the timecode coming from the SDI (Forgot to mention this)

If you using a Lock-it or Deneke box for Jamming TC then assuring the TC is accurate via the "chain" icon in the LCD, you should have proper sync. I do though find up to a 20 frame delay is a "normal" for Red even when using a smart slate.

I use a Sound Devices : TC I/O to Lemo 5 pin and a 6" BNC for Genlock.

Goodluck,

Have we ever established that the RED ONE does in fact embed TC in the HDSDI output?

Yes it does... it embeds the Time (of Day) Code and not the Edge Code...

Uhhh just checking here.. But can someone at RED confirm the issue that this thread was started for?

I.E. The HD-SDI is embedding RED'S Time of Day timecode, but is NOT updateing the timecode of the jammed signal when Jamming to the camera.

Please confirm
Jay
