HD-SDI ports not working

I have a friend who has a Red whose client just told him that the HD-SDI ports on his Red body are fried and aren't working.

What's the damage $$$ of something like this?

Are they sure that they don't have the monitor-preview setting at MENUS[DVI]?

Not sure yet. I'll wait until the camera is back in his possession and just send it in.

Probably not the issue, but if you're in 25-land and running it through a kona or similar for distribution, you need to set the Hz to 50 from the default 59.xx

Or they may have it connected to something from BMD which, as yet (coming I believe), still can't deal with the out of spec jitter of the Red tap.
