After upgrading to the latest firmware 7.1.0.1, and calibrating the sensor using auto calibration and then also creating a manual calibration (1 Pass), along with applying both at different times and testing them I am still seeing more grain than normal at 800 ISO on the Helium. I also made sure to calibrate after proper warmup (Approx. 30 min. of warming up before calibrating). Anybody else have this problem? I'm pretty new at it all so any help would be appreciated.

updated ISO calibration

updated ISO calibration

Have a look in Menu > Image > ISO > Use updated ISO calibration check box. ? This can change your underlying exposure by a stop. Refer to Page 81 in the manual for a description.

I advise leaving that checked as that's the way RED works going forward. Just set it to 400 ISO instead if that's your goal.

My guess is the banding is coming from heavy compression, due to using the in-built attachment function on reduser. It's a 2300 pixel wide image with compressed way down to 120 KB.

Touché...

Brandon, you able to post a .r3d frame? That'll get rid of any second guessing.

How do I create a snapshot with the metadata?

In RCXP, click the little R3D button under your clip.
