Have to use Tiffen IRND. Have a couple questions

My usual source for rental Formatt Hot Mirror ND filters did not come through for me on an upcoming shoot, so my next go-to rental house stocks Tiffen IRND. It is plain IRND, and they also carry a Tiffen Hot Mirror. Is there any reason to rent the Hot Mirror, since they have the IRND available? Like I said, I am used to the Formatt filters, which put them all together as one Hot Mirror IRND filter.

I believe you are supposed to use a hot mirror too.

I have a set coming this week with a hot mirror and will test it out.

Thanks for that information. The rental house now says they have one Formatt ND 1.2 Hot Mirror ND. So, I suppose I will stack standard ND, maybe a .3 or a .6 at most with that, with the hope that I will have sufficient IR filtration with that front Formatt Hot Mirror.
