No change in status of phantom power, but yes other audio improvements ..

Are you able to elaborate on the improvements? I have read posts concerning Red's audio performance and also the Sound Devices review (I own the sound devices 722 - beautiful bit of gear).

I have been considering buying Red for some time but as I do documentary work the camera's capacity to capture usable audio using the microphone inputs is pretty important to me (though I do go line level in and capture double sound whenever possible).

I need exactly the same from the other reason.
Audio on RED is fine.
By the time you will get your camera you will not need this phantom power cables, I think.

So it seems that the camera "should" have phantom as it's an option in the menue and all other professional cameras do have it...when??

I have an issue with audio on the recent 16 build. I get a tone for audio on channel 1 and 2. Channel 3 and 4 don't work at all. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Curious why the Phantom Power shuts off every time I restart the camera? Is this something that can be changed by the release build 16?
