  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone received an AL Canon mount SCARLET these past two weeks?

Interesting, that is surprising since a couple AL EF mount Scarlets seemed to have trickled out, so it seemed like they were shipping just very slowly. That's great news since it seemed like the pace of shipping was just very slow but really they just weren't really shipping. It will be interesting to see how quickly they start shipping out now that they are actually shipping.

I bet those might've been the cameras, or mounts they used to present the camera at "The Event"

Sweet!
So the Aluminum Canon mount will be available as a standalone item in the online store? Soon? Does it have any disadvantages vs. Titanium, other than durability?
Thanks,

Jarred did say they eventually will be available stand alone, but he also said it will be awhile. With all of the Scarlet orders, I wouldn't hold your breath on being able to order a standalone AL Canon mount till probably well into next year.

No I think he was saying that essentially whatever hickup there was in production for the mount on the camera are now taken care of. He actually said that it wouldn't be in the store for awhile.

I am looking forward to mine coming soon! Ordered Nov. 3! Let's take over the world my fellow RED gents :) (and Ladies of course)

Have a 7:32pm order by phone, was at the 300 event, have not heard even an allocation notice yet. Not very stoked right now. Hoping to hear something soon.

I'm hoping you hear first thing tomorrow morning, I'd be a little concerned about the timeline here if not. I was at the event and ordered about an hour later than you, as soon as I could get through the website..., so I'm watching your status closely, hope you don't mind ;) hehe

no problem Tyler, I feel like "Gee Whiz? I knew their might be some problems so I really busted ass to get there and place an order as quickly as I possibly could - but there has been no results to my efforts"

Oh I'm sure. I can't imagine being as high on the list as you are and at the event and still not hearing a peep but also seeing the couple people that were ahead of you, receive theirs weeks ago... Sounds like the delay is over at least, the next few days of this week will be very telling though. I'm getting quite anxious but staying patient, I've been fortunate to have a very busy December, production wise, so I've had plenty of distractions to pass the time.

I've recently found Battlefield 3 to be an excellent distraction to help me pass time while waiting for my Ti Canon Mount Scarlet. I'd highly recommend it to anyone currently approaching a dangerously high level of anxiety and/or stress due to lack of patience while waiting for their RED product.

I recommend a dosage of 3 hours, 56 minutes and 24 seconds of gameplay per day, administered in the morning after awakening or at night immediately before going to bed.

If symptoms of anxiety and stress continue, please contact your Bomb Squad rep immediately as these can be signs of Serious Lack of Patience Disorder.

Seriously people, as much as I want to start shooting with my Scarlet, I understand the enormous load that's being placed on RED right now. People just need to take a deep breath, relax and understand that A LOT of people have been waiting a VERY long time for Scarlet to even be released. The month or two or three that it'll take RED to ship these cameras out is nothing compared to how long some people have been waiting. I'm seeing new threads like this every day now. While I think the discussions in these are great, how many threads discussing wait times and order shipment whatnot do we need?

Be patient and one day you'll walk out your front door and see a FedEx box containing your shiny new Scarlet. :) I just hope you don't trip over it or lose your mind until then.
