Luckily I was just running a camera test and it wasn't on set. I was testing out the Red Raptor on a Ronin Rs3 gimbal. And I plugged in a Red V mount battery into the Kondor Blue D-Tap to 6 pin Lemo cable to power the camera. So it plugs into the Dtap of the battery and plugs into the DC-In on the camera. I also had a formatted card in the camera.
Once I did that, the camera would not boot up. It would stay on the skull logo. After a lot of trouble shooting, had to hard reset the camera. Ended up updating the camera and monitor. But after I got the camera back up and running, it fried the media card. And then the camera would not boot up again with that card in the camera. But would boot up without it. And if I put the media into the camera once it was up and running, the camera could not recognize the card. I also tried 2 different computers. And nothing could read the card or bring it back to life.
Luckily it's under warranty and everything is fine. But I'm like, what if that was on a shoot!? I'd be in trouble!
So, has anyone had an issue like this? My best guess is there was some sort of power surge. But to fry a card like that is weird.
Thanks in advance for any input!
Thanks!
