  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anybody used CRLS (Cine Reflect Lighting System) light?

I own the KFlect system (former partner of Christian Beger). It's better organized. The issue with both systems however, are the light sources. New solutions are coming though in the forum of LED Cob's and I believe Aputure now makes an inexpensive Source Four focusing tool for instance....

I have a new (purchased in Nov '17) hardly used Kflect DOP kit for sale. Only a few of the reflectors have been unwrapped. It's a very nice set - https://www.kflect.com/products-kits-en?lightbox=dataItem-io9v6mh1 - and practically unused. 2850euros = $3519. With import tax and shipping from Austria it cost me over $4200. If anyone's interested I'd be willing to part with it for $3400 plus shipping. I'll post images to anyone who asks.

The way I see it, you can get away with setting just one or two lights and then creating much smaller footprint around the set consisting of reflectors rather than heavy light fixtures, flags, bounce, etc. Also becomes easier to modify the lighting set-up as the day goes on.

Some of the various Youtube videos describing the process are... "enlightening." LOL

Conceptually, I really like the system, and the effectiveness of its reflectors. But other than time saved in runing distro to additional lampheads, I'm still unclear on the advantages it offers over conventional lighting setups. Could anyone enlighten me?

You need 2 stands in stead of one ;-)

I love to se some one using this outside using the sun. Or use the sun as source to light up an interior instead of a lamp.

I have a k-flect system. It offers some nice advantages when circumstances are favorable. But if I had to describe a true nightmare scenario, it would be trying to track the sun and trying to maintain all the reflection angles. I just can't even...
