  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has any one has done any thing at car shows what would they recommend?

HI all
Has any one has done any thing at car shows what would they recommend.
Like redvolts or redbrick, lenses, Shoulder Rig or not if not what so on... and tripods that would be good for stand still for long shooting and mobile to take to evens.
I plan on getting an epic.

I was looking at the clutch and do like I can take it from shoulder right to a tripod with out taking thing apart.
At reducation I was able to check out the clutch and liked the front and back pads seems to help a lot.
Still had problems trying to keep it steady when I need to focus.
Hope I can add some thing to focus by my hand so I can keep ahold of the rig.

Any ideas would be nice. I posted same thing on Facebook and got some good feedback just want more.

Would like to get this stof ordered asap so I can try to get it for next weekend.

Thanks
James Peach

Hi James - I like to use Monopods for things like this - some stability, lots of ease of movement. If you can afford one (new or secondhand) the Easyrig is pretty sweet for long days.

I think for this kind of Mobile EFP thing Canon, nikon, or other stills lenses are a "must" and screw in filters too.

Experiment to see what kind of redcode ratio you can get away with for your style of shooting. Higher redcodes seem to do better with more light (seemingly - like 12:1 does well with a lot of light)

James Ive covered several car shows with my EPIC.

Some things that seem to help
A shoulder strap has been sweet and very useful.

What Dan said is very helpful.

Shooting at 48fps allows for smoother moves i tend to like shooting 48fps
Monopod is helpful
EF canon 24-70 t2.8 has been sweet.

I carry 4 redvolts in my pocket and 1 in camera its worked great i often turn off my camera when looking for my next car.
REDcode 9to1 and 8to1 have been my choice yours may differ.

You cant go wrong with bricks either.
Light weight on longer walks makes me want redvolts and to go as light and simple as possible

best of luck
Luis
