Hello,

I've worked on one feature film where all we used was Western Digital hard drives. They worked fine but I was wondering, is there a safer hard drive or just another one that I should think about using over Western Digital?

Which ones should I avoid?

Thanks,

chadac

Gylph - They have served us well. In the past we had several lacie (Approx 14) of which we had 8 of them go down. Western digital - again did not have good experience, No failures but of the 2 we had, both had problems mounting (on Macs). This was random!

Switched to Glyph, current have 6 (4 1TB and 2 500GB) no problems at all.

We've been using external Maxtor's & Seagates (Same company) with no problem. Internally we have switched to Hitachi UltraStar because of reliability. Were using Seagate 1 TB Drives but almost 50% were DOA.

Had some big Lacies in the past but almost all of them died - was sick of recovering data.
