  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey,

I know the Hanns·G HW-173DBB has been discussed on the boards before. I'm about to buy one and I'm wondering how it's been working with Build 16? Also, are there any new monitors that folks are having success with when using Build 16, HMDI to DVI?

I'm interesting in the same thing.

Questions: To set this up on the Red One, you have it output to 1080p, right? And is that what shows up on the monitor? 1080p image? with or without the menus showing?

I also heard people using 24 inch Dell and Apple monitors. I have 30" and tried to hook it up but it didn't work.
 
I have one and the aspect ratio doesn't come out quite right. On the other hand it makes people look skinny so sometimes the talent loves it.

The menus display properly as well as look around. Playback is fine. I first hooked it up with a hdmi to hdmi cable and it froze the camera. Camera hdmi to dvi on the monitor works and boots without issues. I don't have any extensive tests with this yet beyond determining that it works and displays an image and is a good match for what you see on the Red lcd.

Has anyone had any success with the Hanns G working with build 20? It was working fine before. I've tested the monitor on my mac and it works so no problems there.
 
Ivan, I have been fighting mine all evening. I've gone through the menus a thousand times, tried 3 different HDMI cables, and even rolled back to B17. Nothing produces an image. I'm open for suggestions.
 
My Hanns-G isn't working anymore either...frustrating...changed the cable, tested it with other devices. Not working with 2 RED cams....

somehow, i thought is was more of an "audio upgrade" issue than a Build 20 issue...since i have one cam upgraded to build 20 and one still on 17...

confused.
 
I just connected a 22" Acer monitor and it works fine. Looks like it is only an issue with the 17" Hanns-G. That's a bummer, this 22" is too large most of the time. I like the size of the 17" on set.

At least I don't have to send my camera back for repairs. That's what I was really worried about.
