Hi!

Some months ago, we decided to shoot a "trailer" / ad for Hanmoodo - a Korean martial arts sport. The production was made without a budget, together with my film colleagues and martial arts performers just for the sheer fun of film-making and to test ultra slow motion in martial arts scene. Angel Films from Helsinki, Finland kindly sponsored our production by providing us Phantom Miro high-speed camera and all light & grip equipment. The non-high-speed shots were shot with a RED One MX at 3K @ 50 fps. We used Nikon glass for all the shots.

The video can also be downloaded in higher quality and with 5.1 surround sound from here: http://www.whitecloud.fi/hanmoodo/

This looks sick!!!! Love those huge sources - what lights are those?!

What fps are the Phantoms set at?

Awesome job Sakari! And the edit is great too!!

Thanks for both! Great to hear you liked it! :)

Nick, the big lights (one above the staircase and second on the edge of tatamis) were 1,8 kW HMI Arrimaxes. There were also two 800 W HMI Arrimaxes with CTO gels behind the anothers sides of tatami area to give some warm punch to martial artists.
The Phantom was set to about 800 fps on fight scenes, 1500 fps when spiltting the watermelon and 3200 fps when breaking the concrete bricks.
