I never post any of my work on the forum...

...thought it was about time

Here's a recent project I shot with Director Dan Brown from Ohhello.tv

http://vimeo.com/2228829

Lenses:
Techno-Cooke 18-90 T2.3
Zeiss Tilt-Shift 45mm T3.5
Russian something or other 75mm T2.3

Whoop...there it is:)

Really beautiful images and great sense of mood. Some really nice juxtapositions and engaging narrative thread.

You guys were able to get flesh tones to look better than many projects I've seen shot on Red. There is usually a flat gray skin tone compared to the luminous quality of film-- you got closer. I've been involved with several Red projects and love the images but I'm always a bit distracted by how the highlights roll of the skin tones. Hopefully the new sensor program will improve dynamic range and color temperature handling.

Great work. Did you shoot with any filtration?

great artwork!
and by the way, posting stuff in this forum is pretty much the best way to get access to international work. and to become to know artists you´d never thought or heared about. :shifty: quality is getting better and better. thanks to vimeo by the way and also vuze.

No filtration, shot clean, just dialed in the shizz with lighting and postwork.

For a couple of the Greenscreen shots I gelled the tungsten lights with blue, then lit her seperately a little "oranger" to go along with the fire effects...

Thanks for all the comments bros:shifty:

absolutely beautiful.

any bts pics?

lighting set ups?

Nah, too busy lighting:sarcasm: ?

It was a bit of a closed set at times... on the off chance, I might have an Iphone shot somewhere, but I doubt it...I'll look.

We lit the whole thing with a small tungsten package, couple Kino's, used a flicker box bouncing off some gold pebble board...

:construction:

This was completely stunning. I am very impressed at what you managed to do with the small lighting package you used. Amazing. How did you accomplish the flames inside the house? alcohol?

For what it's worth this talk about BTS pics strikes me as fairly inappropriate. I am sure the talent would be mortified.

The flames were created using lighter fluid, shot outdoors, then comped in later

...just so's we didn't have to burn the house down and stuff:)

Boh! Boh!
Yeah Billy that is absolutely beautiful brother. Thanks for sharing.

:umm:

its not the talent i was asking to get pictures of. blur her out for all I care.

Yeah... not sure what's so inappropriate about seeing some lighting set-up examples...:usd:

Edit... Ohhhhh. Just watched the film. Yep, she'd need to be blurred out for sure.

Love it.

Can you tell me if the shadow noise is due to Vimeo compression artefacts or was it in the original image? Shooting into a lot of darkness there.

Beautiful.

*EDIT* really only noticeable if you go full screen.

Yeah it's totally Vimeo, make sure HD is on though...
