I wanted to be as free with my Red than with my previous camera. so i ask a friend to make a little prototype for carrying all what i need going outside. First one was cardboard, this one is wood, and the next one should be aluminium.
The photos are the very first, and I did not make any footage with the Red because I am still waiting for the 16G CP and Reddrive.
Here, the Red is not well balanced because I put the EVF mount on the Red body. Next time I will put it on the universal mount on the Rods. So I shall be able to push back all on the Allstar plate (great accessory that you can see on the right picture).
The Nikon mount modified by Douglas is also a great accessory .

Looks a bit like something I was going to make. Is it annoying to not be able to swivel the camera up and down?

I can make mouvement easily at about 20-30° with the body, but i just wear it 15 minutes. Not used in reel condition at this moment.

impressive

looks...special...but why did you put that stuff on the left onto that thing?? that limits your view to that side and makes everything bulky...

I want to make the more weight on the left to counterbalance the RedOne body. I want to keep my back to stay as straight as possible. The Zacutto or Element Technica kit are going to put all the charge on the right of the skeleton, and i think it will produce a lot of backache.

Beautiful! Reminds me of the old shouldermount I still have of my old Philips LDK-14 (workhorse of Dutch and international Television in the 70's and 80's).
My second thought is that it may be a little too much to shoot as directly as you wish with shoulderwork.
The idea of the Third Man (putting the harddisk and batteries in a rucksack) might also work with a shouldermount that fits your basic needs.
