Oh yes, it was a joke not a test: "The DPs for each camera were then given the opportunity to re-light the set under strict parameters to get the very best out of their cameras."

I also have a GH2 as a B cam for a doc I am shooting right now. It has a nice sharp image for a stand alone HD digital still/motion camera, but as soon as I mix it with RED footage it looks extremely weak. And it falls apart so quickly when grading. It's worth the $800 it costs, but I would never choose to shoot a feature, or even a short narrative film with it. Not while I've got a RED anyways.

I was the New York screening of the Zacuto shootout, and the GH2 did not hold up well, in my mind. There was a few dropped frames, and some motion artifacts. Certainly not any where near the 'higher-end' cameras, and about as good as the 7D. Possible problem with the bit-rate they used: 150Mb/s. Could have been too high to avoid dropped frames.
The F65, Alexa, Epic, and F3 with S-log were the stars of the show. The C300 didn't make a very good showing, especially compared to the F3, but that's certainly due to the C300 recording internally, and the F3 going to a Gemini 4:4:4.

Who would of thought a DSLR would place 3rd....

in a Zacuto camera test....

I bought a GH2, i use it and love it. But comparing it to the Epic is ridiculous. Dynamic range? Resolution? Frame Rates? Come on...

Not to mention rolling shutter. I just saw the 3d trailer for spiderman (at the avengers screening). It looked amazing. Like looking through glass.

I own an Epic and it's a better camera than the GH2 and I couldn't be more happy with it. See, I can do it too.

This is a record ! Two pages and this thread hasn't been deleted still ;-) Come on guys, let's reach the third page ;-)

I was at the ASC screening in Hollywood and the GH2 was not received so good... I guess it depends on who's watching.

The Red looked very good btw and a LOT better than HD video looking GH2. Not in the same league but nice to see a shootout with it included.

I want to see the test. The description of crushed blacks on the Red sounds like a grading issue. And bringing everyone down downplays a major advantage of most of the cameras in the test.
