Gyro for boat

Hello!
Any tip on a not to expensive solution to gyro stabilize a smal camera out in the ocean?
Would this work:

or should I need to go for something like this:

I am thinking about using a canon 7d camera, or scarlet when it arrives.

I've been checking this further myself
and several people seems to guide me towards one (and not two) kenyon gyro(s).
I will use it handheld.
Thoughts?

Should be fine, it's a solution thats been used for many years, I can only add that it would also be a good idea to suspend the 7D/Gyro using a bungee if possible, this will reduce some of the vibration created by trying support the weight with your arms.
