Guns with Nikon Lenses

I shot part of this over the weekend when I was out in Arizona. All the stuff out in the desert was done using the 80-200mm f~2.8 Nikon. I was also using Tiffen's Hot Mirror and a ND .9. The stuff inside was shot using the 20mm and the 35mm. Part of this was a test for an upcoming short and the stuff out in the desert was just a test to see how everything looked with those filters. Next time I'll get some audio.

Yeah, we found it there and it seemed like it needed to be put down. The only problem was that it wasn't placed far enough away and we got some cone shrapnel. We also shot off some 37mm flare rounds but didn't get any footage because it was a last minute thing as we were rolling out of there. Maybe next time because it did look pretty cool.

I have a house that I rent out there with a friend of mine. Its kind of the place I go to play at when I have some free time. But my work is out here and really the only reason I'm in the LA area at all. AZ is the place for me. Camping there is awesome, going out to shoot guns in the desert that would make you a felon in CA is cool on so many levels and the skate parks are some of the best I've been too.

Those backlit shots were some of the key ones that I was going for out there.

heh. i used to go to the gun shop in Payson, AZ all the time. the old guy who ran it had all kinds of weapons i could never get in CA. basically anything you can get federal permission to own, they will sell you in AZ.

Payson is f'ing awesome. That's the place I go camping all the time at. Its also the next place I want to buy property at. Its like South Lake Tahoe and its about 15° cooler there than it is in Phoenix. The guns shops in AZ are amazing. If your ever in Tempe Tom you have to check out Arizona Tactical Firearms (ATF). That place has got some cool stuff and the guys are super nice.
