  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Gunleik / or anyone with green screen knowledge!

One last comment- on the blue channel, you can really see that damn line surrounding her. That is the infamous line I am dealing with.

Just do a test with the images you already have. Set K @ 5600, lower ISO (I have repeatedly had the cam come in to about 200 asa in tungsten, but it is a good trick to get rid of noise anyway), do NOT use tint, but adjust with the color drawers (slightly) Look @ the blue channel... and don't sharpen... Another thing with tungsten light: it emits a lot more infra red than HMIs. That poisons the red channels. CMOS and CCD sensors are sensitive to that altough manufactures use an infra red filter. Sometimes that build-in filter is not steep enough, so using a mattebox infra red filter might help.

Which compression level did you use on RED Code? Try to set it to the lesser compression (which can be used with the RED Drive only) - that might also reduce compression artifacts.

During post production you could degrain the blue channel only - that will help too - it might be useful to blur the blue channel also a bit - but take care that will make the talents theeth look yellow if overdone. You could choose to blur the lower levels of blue only, that will reduce the speckles but can't be detected easily by eye.
