I have a felling it's simple they probably added S35 and they are keeping the cost under $7k.... That alone would be Pimp =)

No one on the Red team has ever made mention, hinted at, or alluded to in any way whatsoever, any plans to change the 2/3" sensor to an S35 sensor. Scrapping the fixed for a removable zoom is a much more likely scenario.
Unnecessary. If it is a 2/3 interchangeable, we could use a 35mm adapter to give it shallow DOF . . .
Unnecessary.
Wouldn't it be cool if it went back 3k for 3k! That alone would sell Like hotcakes!!!!!!!!!!
No I dont like to se them droping of features.
I wish they give it ssd reader original so we can get that in a package!
It would be cool, but they won't - that's a concept that was left behind so long ago... if anything - recent statements from Jim would suggest they're a 4K company now. But Jim, is well... tricky to read - which makes this so much fun, doesn't itWouldn't it be cool if it went back 3k for 3k! That alone would sell Like hotcakes!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. From reading the last 60 posts, it looks like the majority of you guys have already been shooting RAW motion pictures at very high resolution. For this reason, you may be spoiled so much that a Scarlet in itself is not attractive and only an EPIC-X will do!
If that is the case, why are you wanting it to be an S35 chip?
What I think may be the true situation is that you have but heard about the Scarlet for so long, y'all act as if you have owned one and you are ready to "step up".
I think too many of y'all's expectations are severely swelled up.
Tell me. What is RED committed to? RAW and High Resolution. Yes.
Scarlet (the one I shot with) had a resolution of 3K. That is still high Resolution. It's no "5K", I know. But it's no $30,000 ($43,000 for the EPIC-X) for the "Brain only"
Scarlet also has high frame rates. Scarlet is much smaller/lighter than te EPIC. Scarlet has RAW. Scarlet has a high Dynamic Range. Scarlet has HDRx which takes that high native DR to even the next level.
What has RED shown that it is not committed to? Large sensors in and of themselves. Besides, what is wrong with a 2/3" chip? There are many shoots in which a 2/3" camera would be better suited for the job.
Ok, Jim said that if Scarlet disappoints, he will retire. I think you have to put that a little bit into context. For some people, the EPIC still somehow "disappoints" them. That doesn't mean that RED failed to defeat all odds by bringing a camera so small, so powerful, so affordable to the market. That doesn't mean it "disappoints" when a few are disappointed.
Without calling people names or hurting their feelings, I think some of you might need to wake up to reality and see where RED differentiates themselves from Canon. If you aren't happy with those differences, feel free to choose something else other than RED.
