Guesses as to when we will be seeing STAGE THREE Epic-X cameras?

i don't think it will be as important to have an early Epic as it was with RED1.

Unless you get to Stage ONE.


My guess...
I think Stage ONE will have at least a 3 month head start before Stage TWO. So about 6 months before Stage THREE.

If Stage ONE starts at the very end of '09, we should see the first of the Stage THREE Epic-X cameras around June 2010.

We would definitely love to be in Stage Two. Just hoping to have enough time to offload our RED One's to aid in prepping our finances for it.

I don't see why you would want to shoot anything commercial with an alpha camera? why risk it - you think insurance will cover? I dont think there is any understanding from producers or excuse you can use, compared to just using a RED1. - a specialty shot demanding slo mo 5k/4k might be the exception, but still a red1 will be on set as backup.
