So there has been a lot of cameras seemingly stolen lately. I began to wonder how long it would be before EVERYONE's camera would be stolen...

So taking an average of a few of the time periods between several of the "stolen camera" threads, I found a camera is stolen, on average, once every 8.4 days.
Not only that, but it will only take around 600 days, or 1.6 years for 5000 cameras to be stolen.

Law of averages says, we are probably just in a streak. Sure, more will get stolen but it won't be at a consistent rate. Let's hope everyone is on their guard and protecting themselves from this happening.

Or maybe Jim is the world's most amazing Danny Ocean style super-thief and the cameras all have secret GPS trackers in them that lead Jarred (played by Brad Pitt) and his crack RED team right to the loot: your camera. :shiftyph34r:

Just initiate a quick kill program for anyone who is found stealing a RED.

...You can have my RED One when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers. I will have no hesitations about prying it from yours.

Not a new concept. Just one that is a bit out of date.

I don't see where that's a problem.

Hmmm...seems like you have made a mistake... At a rate of 1 stolen camera each 8,4 days it`s gonna take 42000 days or 116 years to get each of the 5000 cams stolen...in 1,6 years you`ll have just 74 cameras stolen. :calm:

Just keep the camera safe as you would a small child in the wilderness. That means never leaving your sight and if it does then you are the only one with the key. As much as I would like to entertain the idea of someone trying to take my camera away from me with force. I know that a situation like that would most likely never happen. Most thieves like to play it somewhat safe and steal stuff when no one is around. So as others have said on here, just make it really hard for them to steal the camera and take the camera home with you at night just to be safe.

With the economy being so bad lets hope this is not an increasing trend.

With the fall of the economy, so will there be a fall of society. It goes hand in hand.

Once you cannot support the welfare load sufficiently to keep them in logo wear with cell phones that are color matched, you will find the bad element within climbing through your windows.

EDIT: That is a RED hand grenade in my Avatar for anyone foolish enough to try to steal my beloved RED!
