  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group purchase of Arri Matteboxes

I was called by Steve today who informed that that a rather large number of Matteboxes was moved for the group buy.

This means we are a LOT closer, if not already past, the number of Matteboxes needed for this to close.

I don't have all the info right now, and when Steve was talking to me, my head was in a few places at once..

I'll confirm all this and get back to you all.

For all of us who wants it to happen, just tell people you know! I spoke to a guy today - He already has ARRI gear, but when I told him about the deal he was ready to get another set, sent him the details - as far as I know he signed up... (Among almost 3000 RED owners getting 20 people to buy this high quality, reliable gear from Arri - concidering the deal Jay has got for us shouldn´t be a problem!

BTW: Jay Kelley, this thread is a complete mess, if you have the time - may I suggest that you edit your first post and put the essentials in there... like the prices, and what is for free, etc...

it's a shame. I was holding out for them for a long time. Now I'm going with the arri group purchase.

I agree.
Too bad I can't afford the Arri group buy anyway since I still need a next gen. MacBook Pro and Mac Pro. If I already had an Intel machine I would probably jump in on this. I already have everything budgeted out to my last penny. Only $1500 for the mattebox.

Before I say this, let me tell you the following:

Anyone participating in THIS group buy will have the same pricing as we have had since it started. This deal has not changed and is being honored by both ARRI and ABEL until it's completion.

Ok now that you know this, here the information:

Due to the falling US dollar overseas, ARRI has RISEN it's prices on it's Matteboxes and Follow Focus units. The price increase is a little over 3%.

Get what you need to guys, you will not see this kind of savings for a long time.. For a LOT of reasons.

Guys, I know you all have businesses to run and schedules/pricing of products is an important part of those businesses. Unfortunately I can't really say anything at the moment other than any announcements will have to come from Jim... I don't want to deprive him of the joy of spilling the beans :)
 
May I suggest PLEASE that if some of you want Curt's Mattebox (Where ever it is) that you go start a thread called "CURT'S MATTEBOX" or something.

This thread is for ARRI and it's complicated enough as it is

Finalised my order with Abelcine today, Steve over there has been a very good resource in helping out picking the right items!
