  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Vaxis Storm Wireless Streaming System

Those who want the 2-pin lemo will have their orders delayed so they can make the changes. They have the 4-pin versions ready to go right now, so if that's the version you want, you can order now and they will be shipped immediately!

I'll go with the 4 pin lemo then. Sorry about that !

Hi
I just received the PM mail, sorry but it's the first time I buy a transmitter like this so I am little lost.

I will buy the 500ft with 1 receiver

What's the best choice for battery? Curtis bogg on his video use Sony NP battery, do you know how many hours is it possible to shoot with a NP battery on the 500ft ?
https://vimeo.com/198884466

Other question, I own a red epic w 8k. on PM mail, you asked to chosee the number of pin on the lemo : " 2 or 4-pin lemos (4 pin versions are ready to go)"
I have no idea about it
So I hoppe someone here could help me
thanks

thanks for answer. What about lemo please ?
and what do you mean when you said : 500ft 1:1 or 50 feet 1:2 ??
thanks

On the fence about the 500 vs 1000 vs 1200

Has anyone had issues with the 500?
I would be more likely to get that with 2 receivers.

I've heard the 500 is comparable to the bolt 300 - and if that's the case then I would be fine with that for most jobs.
(A local rental house is using the hollyland version of this and is quite happy with them - saying they're better then the bolt 300s)

So mabye the best bet would be to get the 1200 system to run out to video village with and additional 500' receiver for a directors monitor that is close to the operator?

I was considering just getting the 500' version - but is it that much poorer then the 1200? If the 500 compares to the bolt 300 - then that's all I need. can you comment?

yeah, with the delay on the 2 pin Lemma, I'll just take the normal cable, and buy a 4 pin to 2 Lemo from Teradek.

They currently come with 4-pin lemo connections. D-Tap to Lemo cables are included with every kit. If you want a 2-pin lemo connector, delivery will take longer since those are custom ordered.

I haven't personally tested the 500 version, but the 1000 and 1200 versions I have. It's always best to get a longer range than what's needed so you can go through more walls/farther with the signal.

Yea, that would work well!

Specify that when you place your order/send payment!

hi
thanks for answer but my question was : what's the difference beetwen LEMO with 2 pin and 4 pin? and what the best choice for red epic w 8 K?

last question what do you mean when you said :
500ft 1:1 or 500 ft 1:2 ?
thanks

maybe i can help

what's the difference beetwen LEMO with 2 pin and 4 pin? and what the best choice for red epic w 8 K?

Lemo-2pin is most commonly wired ARRI-standard, meaning pin 1 is ground and pin 2 is +VDC. You would see this as a 12V power-out port on the Redvolt Expander, XL and Redvolt XL modules as well as on the Arri Alexa and Amira. It is the power-in port-of-choice on Teradek's and Ghost-Eye's.

Lemo-4pin is most commonly wired Red-standard, meaning pin 1 is ground and pin 4 is +VDC. In the Red-iverse, it is a 12V power-out port on the Redvolt Expander as well as the old +1 Adaptor Module.

Since you get a PTap-to-Lemo cable as part of this kit, either choice will work just fine. However, PTap-to-Lemo2 cables are easier to get hold of if you break yours or need a spare.

500ft 1:1 or 500 ft 1:2 ?

1:1 = transmitter plus 1 paired receiver
1:2 = transmitter plus 2 paired receivers

thanks a lot for answer. Sorry but my english is not perfect so I want to be sure to perfectly understand you. with EPIC W 8 K I should choose lemo 4 pin right ?
thanks ;)

Thanks Chris.

In your experience - is it worth paying the extra for the 1200, or is the 1000 acceptable?
Have you found a real benefit to the 1200?

ps- Hi Jean - The 11-16 tokina is working out great!

Thanks!

From the build quality and the few extra accessories, it seems like the 1200 is worth the extra. Just had this discussion with myself earlier today. The metal housing will take much more a professional beating than the plastic, and will probably outlast its use.

With the Epic-W (or any camera) it does not matter which one you go for.

Jumping in on the 1200 w/ V-Mount. Excited to finally have a reliable wireless video signal. :)

Added and sent info

Thanks Chris.

The 1000 foot is a nice unit, however, the 1200 foot version far outshines the 1000 foot version in terms of build quality. So I'd get the 1200 if you can swing it. It's well worth it IMO
