  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Vaxis Storm Wireless Streaming System

If we hit the top tier I'm sure they can probably make that happen

Thanks Chris, so count me in for (1) TX 150m, if we make the tier. Perhaps if it's not too complicated, maybe someone who wants an extra RX can split a kit with me.

They go by feet, not meters...so the closet thing to 150M would be 500 feet. Again, they said it does not work with Cinegears/unbranded 150M transmitters/receivers, so I'd caution just in case. Up to you though. Let me know.

Any chance that they could do these in 2 pin Lemo for power, so the power cables are compatible with everything else out there?

I doubt they would change that given they are already being produced. With the integrated battery mounts, shouldn't need to use the Lemos a whole heck of a lot. Plus, you get D-Tap to Lemo power cables included.

Just to cheerlead so we can get top tier, I've used the 150m TX/RX on numerous jobs without fail. The main you thing you have to remember or tell your AC's is if you get drops or interference, change the channel. Really works. I can't attest for the longer range ones, but I've used mine throughout NYC on short and long form which can be an RF nightmare. It honestly gets 500' as I've tested it in the city and got two city blocks line of site. Got about a block going through my local bar and onto the street. Also, in terms of difference btw the Vaxis and Bolt 300 is that the Vaxis doesn't have a SDI out, only in. Which isn't a big deal as I use it at the end of an SDI run (looping through Small HD 702). Also, the NP batteries are cheap and you get 5-6 hours off one NP 970. I use Wasabi Power batts. The NP plates are well built, locking the batts into place and won't spit batteries out for handheld of vehicle work.

My only concern is where to get spare parts and where to send for repai. Chris?

They have a facility in Virginia, so any RMA issues would be sent there.

UPDATE - TOP TIER

UPDATE - TOP TIER

Ok guys. So Vaxis said that they will open up the top tier level now for the 1200 foot version - so 30% off now even though we haven't hit 20 orders yet. AMAZING!!!

And they will also start shipping now as well. I'm just waiting to get the discount code, then it will be PM'd to all of you.

For those interested in the lower end models..will still need to wait to get to 20 total orders before those discount tiers are unlocked.

Chris, one thing that's really great on the ghosteye is that it will feed an hd/sdi monitor and an hdmi monitor directly at the same time, can you confirm if the vaxis does this as well?

I'm almost positive it does...on vacation at the moment, otherwise I'd test it for you. I've pinged by contact just to make sure (since I don't get back until Tuesday), so I'll reconfirm for you.

Much appreciated!

A client of mine also requested 2pin Lemo connectors. If we order 10 or more units with 2pin, Vaxis will change the Lemo connector.

I would prefer two pin as well, don't see any advantages in a four pin

Put me down for one 500' version and I would prefer the 2 pin demo power cable as well to go to the REDVOLT XL DSMC2 unit.

Just had a client place an order directly with Zhu Julie for a 1200ft with 3 receivers. They don't have RU so they went directly through her but add it to your list so it counts towards the discount for everything else :)

Hi and thanks for the group buy.

Interested in one 1200ft system with V-Mount. I would also prefer to have the lemo 2 pin if possible, but it's not a deal breaker !

Cheers,

Those who want the 2-pin lemo will have their orders delayed so they can make the changes. They have the 4-pin versions ready to go right now, so if that's the version you want, you can order now and they will be shipped immediately!

Hi Chris (or someone in the know).

What makes the 500 foot Vaxis better than the Ghost Eye 500 foot? Everyone seemed to love the Ghost Eye before.

Thanks

It's very similar to the Ghost Eye series. Personally, the 1200 foot version is where it really sets the bar far ahead of the competition. The Vaxis Storm 1200 version is by far the best version of any wireless system st that price point - even at $4800, and makes it a no-brained. The other versions are nice as wel (haven't tested the 500 personally), but they are cheaper/smaller so some of you may prefer it.

I'll take a 1200 in V Mount.
