  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

Exactly guys. Tilta has been continuing to improve on the design and making changes/improvements which is going to make the product we are getting that much better. I'm trying to get an update from Yang regarding shipping. As soon as I receive one, I'll let you guys know.
I respect and appreciate Tilta's efforts, what I don't understand is why they are reluctant to give you a unit for review! Even after they released a pic showing almost 50 completed assembles of products, why wouldn't they ship you one of those with a note indicating that they intend to move the rec button, after all, all you (and presumably "almost" everyone else) is looking at is the build quality, strength of the motors, and the responsiveness. That is not to discount ergonomics and easy of use, all I am saying is, at this point in time Tilta should have shipped a review unit.

If the current decision to improve the product is from beta testers in the field, why won't they consider you as part of these beta testers? Something doesn't add up, or perhaps I am wrong.

I would have loved a review unit, but Tilta wasn't going to send me something that I would fault like crazy. Plus, with the visibility this GB has generated, they want only the best/final units getting sent out. Frankly, I'm glad it's happening this way, since we now will all get a better unit.

With regards to payment, has anyone managed to pay via PayPal? or is Tilta only doing it by int. bank transfer?

Does anyone have any update for more of an exact shipping date?

I received this today: "For the Nucleus-M we still need some more time for the handle upgrade. it took longer than what we thought, also we have the BIRTV in between, once we get it fully ready, we will ship it ASAP".

I don't mind waiting, just hoping for a more concrete date.

Tilt told me they do accept Paypal, but with a 4% service charge. So at this point any savings you might have had from the GB is negligible when combined with the shipping cost.

NO exact date as of yet, but it will be soon. They are upgrading the handles, which are taking more time. I'm still happy/glad to wait for a more perfect product.

If you haven't paid, you're out of luck as the payment cutoff time passed a long time ago, so you're no longer a part of the GB>

true story: didnt go into GB and put the money in cryptocurrencies and in the two months earned enough to get myself WCU-4 :D
was lucky i guess. hope you guys get it soon.

I thought if you didn't pay by the cut off date you would still be part of the GB just pushed to the end of the line.

We've all seen this before - hardware development and manufacturing is not a simple nor 100% predictable process, so the estimated release dates issued when a product is announced while still in prototype stage can (and often will) be overly optimistic. In camera equipment world, RED and Blackmagic are some prominent examples that immediately spring to mind. Tilta, at least, is sufficiently large and reputable as a company so that there is little doubt the Nucleus-M will ship eventually when they have ironed out the bugs - I would be more worried if we were dealing with a Kickstarter project with an obscure background.

Regardless of what I said above, an official (even conservative) update on the estimated shipping schedule from Tilta would be nice.

Talked with their LA rep yesterday, and he pushed back the dates to end of October. said reduser buyers were first in line.

I've been in many group buys and have never complained but its a bit cheeky to see a new system that they claim will be shipping at the end of next month... The new "N: series: https://www.cinema5d.com/tilta-nucleus-n-the-remote-micro-follow-focus-for-your-rig/

I would hope that Tilta are dedicating most of there resources to getting the "M" series out, as they already have our money. I would recommend an official update here from Tilta as this GB represents a significant portion of Tilta's customer base.

They are focusing on M, specifically getting our orders delivered. I'm supposed to pick mine up on a Friday. I'll try and post a video asap of it. Yang has stated that the engineers are confident they will be getting around 100 units out by the end of the month, and the others shortly thereafter. I know and have felt the frustration with the delays, and as I've stated before, they have been making the product better, for all of us.

It's going to be well-worth the wait guys and we are very close to the finish line!

Fair enough. Looking forward to the video. Thanks Chris!

This might turnout to be a bigger hit than M, and Tilta might find themselves in the position RED got into when they released Raven.
