GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

Gimme me a break.
At what point in this interview below or any of the countless others they gave do they say that the $1200 price tag is only an introductory offer ?

https://www.cinema5d.com/tilta-nucleusm-complete-wireless-lens-control-system-1200/

If it is indeed going to be higher, then there is a special kind of dishonesty that has gone on here in this interview.

Oh and by the way, just how do you feel about the fact that they have asked people to put their data at risk with a totally insecure method of CC payment ?
Does this actually bother you at all ? I have seen no expression of concern on your part.

From an ethical point of view I know that I would have a lot of trouble with that. But that's just me.

Bro, you need to chill out and go smoke a joint.
Back out of the group buy and go complain somewhere else. You and everyone else complaining here is getting really irritating. All this noise your making isn't going to change anything.
Did you go complain to Jarred about the year long waits on the DSMC2 line?
How about the price increase on the RAVEN?
Why are your panties in a knot over Tilta, but not RED? RED never stated their price was going to increase either....but alas, the raven is more expensive now. Lets get jarred in this group so you can bitch at him too about that. Sound good?
I can't believe how many of you are so scared of the payment method like you are handing your stuff over to a common criminal. It actually makes me laugh how you must live in constant fear.

We truly live in a time where someone people have made it their mission in life to just complain about anything and everything.

Dude, you need to hit about 5 grams of shatter. You just went on a irony rant...... you do realize that complaining about people complaining could be considered complaining about the very thing your complaining about, which is complaining......

Fair enough, but I'm not complaining about getting something early and at a discount. This guy and many others are. The entitlement is getting old.

Ok can we bring this back into what were all here for..... please.
Chris, have you gotten your unit yet? Or have they let you know when it's going to ship?
It's basically really close to when the first wave of these is supposed to be shipping.
End of July was supposed to be the first 100 or so? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm 113 on the list and would really love to get this this month or early next month.
Is there any video out there of the finished software and the finished product instead of the prototype?
Thanks a lot.
Btw the bank wire worked fine for me.

No. The answer is not "if you don't like it leave".
The answer is "I hear what you are saying, I represent a group of 600 potential buyers and I have an ethical responsibility to look out for their interests as much as the company involved".

You STILL have not shown the least amount of concern that the company whom you have interacted with is asking members to put their most sensitive data at risk in a manner which has been totally disavowed by every internet security company today.

Does this matter to you ?

Further, almost TWO THIRDS of your GB voted with their feet. That is a pretty strong indictment of some part of this process. What could that be ? I really think both you and Tilta need to take a long hard look at this and adopt a different attitude to the points I am raising here.

I've spent a lot of time trying to make this a perfect group buy for everyone. They first only were going to accept wire payments. I got them to accept credit cards and PayPal payments since a lot of members wanted to pay via those methods. If Tilta requires some other info in order to process that particular payment method, that's not on me, that's their decision and within their right. If you don't like that particular method of payment because of what said company required, pay another way.

When people accuse me of not caring, that's what makes me upset, because I do, and if all the activity I bring to this community isn't evidence of that, then I don't know what is. You can stop tainting this thread now since apparently you won't ever be happy.

I think a lot got mixed in here, my guess is that 90% of the complaining wasnt aimed at Chris, he did a good job, trying to sort things out. Its probably hard to do 500+ groupbuy.
Tilta is still shit at communicating. I didnt mentioned this before, but I got a completly different invoice to what i ordered,... and that took weeks... but then i dropped out anyways for my reasons.
Why people complain is to make changes in the first place and nothing else. If people didnt complain with wire transfer there woudlnt be CC and later on as I see Paypal... Things that are not perfect should be said out loud. Thats why im loud sometimes.

About people not complaining for RED not hitting the target date or incresing prices... dude you need to be on this forum more... there is so much complaining about all of those. the latest probably about V-locks and the list goes on and on.

this is the point of forum / discussion. to give out your oppinion. if someone takes it or not is a different thing.

half of you ordered, half of us didnt. thats it. and as its good to know why some got in with trust its good to know why some didnt. I didnt see any plus on getting in blind, but i by ordering hydrogen for the same amount...

I'm not your Bro.
You go smoke a joint.

And no, I won't shut up so that you can feel less irritated.

Welcome to America.

So Tilta accepts Paypal now ?
I don't see this anywhere in the first post.

If that is the case then great. On the contrary that would make me happy.

Perhaps you should state this in the original post.
If that is indeed true, then the real issue is now a question of clarity and communication.

In terms of "tainting the thread".
If people don't speak up and say "hang on a second", things don't change.

It is a responsibility to take the lead on anything, and if a significant number of people don't follow, it is more valuable to know why than to simply say "get lost" - which is essentially the message you have been sending me each time I spoke up. And it does appear that a lot of people have followed your advice and "gotten lost" - so has that made things better ? The difference is that as a member of anything including this community I believe that I also have a responsibility to speak up. Believe me staying invisible is the easy thing and that solves nothing.

Lastly, being the head of something where a company asks members to potentially compromise their most sensitive data would definitely be unacceptable to me, and I would have no hesitation to tell a company to nix this and insist on a safer, easier alternative, regardless of the outcome. Because that is ethically what I feel I would owe to the people I represent. That is also a part of being a leader. It is not just about getting a few extra perks or a better price for everyone. So perhaps this is where we differ in outlook. Or is it ?

By the way, on a personal level I am quite sure you do care. If you didn't, I probably wouldn't bother. As I see it you are doing your job as a leader, and I am doing my job as a member by speaking up.

Well said. Bravo.
Precisely my point of view.

I appreciate Chris's effort, but when it came time to process all this, the level of amateurishness on Tilta's part turned me off. I just don't want to do business with people who act that way. I like all of my tilta products, but so far, they are all dumb things that can't break.

The percentage of people who backed out should be a pretty good indicator of how this deal went down. I would hope Tilta would look at this as a learning experience, and perhaps Chris, you can see some peoples level of frustration on what sure seemed like - AND I STRESS - SEEMED like, a bait and switch. It's all about perceptions.

Perhaps I'll get a unit down the road. I was also scared off in that I have never been happy with any motor other than Heden, Arri, Preston, and M-one. Even reds motor which is a great little design, just doesn't have any balls.

Cheers,

Nick

This seems a little harsh, Nick. I don't see how it seemed like "a bait and switch" from any way you look at it. Amateurish on the payment side? Absolutely. Late on the delivery of the test units? Yes. (But this is reduser, so we ought to be used to that...) that's all fair criticism, but bait and switch is a completely different thing.

Does anyone know if the Nucleus-M motors are the same as the Ikan Remote Air 2 motors. From the video I watched on Facebook, the Nucleus-M motor looked bigger.

From the Tilta website Nucleus M description:

6. The two hand grips have a wireless range of 100ft.
7. FIZ hand unit has a wireless range of 300ft. The signal from the FIZ hand unit can be signal boosted with an antenna accessory to 1 1/4 miles, which is ideal for long distance drone work.

Is the range of our version 300 feet, and if so, is there any information about the antenna accessory available? Could not find on the Tilta website.

Finding this out for you. I too was under the impression that ours would go much longer than 300 feet without paying for additional range accessories.
