  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

about that paper CC form... there is a facebook post that someone received a fill out form from someone else instead of an empty one...

No mail yet is it any other tilta address we should write to??
Thanks

Chris, one dum question is the red RS cable and the Arri RS cable 80 for each? or Red and Arri 80 for both?
Thanks

Yeah, I saw that. However, Tilta responded swiftly to it and compensated the parties involved. They've also changed their process to ensure it doesn't happen again. I don't condone what they did but I am trying to be positive in this situation. This is a massive fulfillment operation they are undertaking.

I send my info to the email indicated and at this point I have not gotten anything back to setup payment... any help would be appreciated.

Does no one else see the notice saying they can charge you whatever they need, and you are not putting a limit on it, and it doesn't have to be shipped to the billing adress, and so so many other things? I feel like that's red alert #1. I want a clear invoice with expense cost, or a payment portal, or something more secure. By filling that out, you're basically giving them free reign, and wouldn't be able to do much in the court of law if anything were to happen

I'm using a virtual account number, that can only be charged for under a certain amount, one time. Gives me a little bit of peace of mind during card-not-present transactions.

Oh! I like that idea. My other idea was using my paypal debit card, so I had a little protection. Still didn't like scanning the license too though

Why would they need a copy of your ID? Is anyone dumb enough to send that in the clear?

I imagine it's for fraud protection on their end. But then again, you can order things on B&H, Amazon, etc. without emailing your ID...

Well guys, I'm the first one always concerned about security, passwords, SSL, encryption, etc and I would prefer for sure an online secure payment portal. But Tilta is not here to scam everyone in a big dark plan... If something not approved by me will be issued on my card I will just block the card and request a refund to my bank as it's a fraud payment. And they will refund me thanks to the credit card circuit fraud insurance, like happened to me in the past.

Probably Tilta could have done a lot things better: more discount, include batteries, online credit card portal, fee-free PayPal, tech details, faster replies, etc. But I think people here are getting to much angry and a lot have never even read the description and details of the GB... Peace, love & relax

Well said. Yea, I hope people continue to have patience and understand that it's a big undertaking with this many orders, especially for a new product. Tilta will deliver...they've done so before so I have the upmost confidence in them.

Gave then my ID with everything blurred out but me and the state. Hope they are happy with that.

because running your card without it can be illegal. seems like fraud protection for them. Ive seen this asked for by other companies but for much larger purchase though. I dont think this is weird

FYI, it is illegal for Tilta to require a photocopy of a drivers license in California. A merchant may ask to see ID for a credit card payment, but is prohibited from recording information from the ID or photocopying it. California Civil Code Section 1747.08

Read it more carefully. The last 2 sentences say they cannot record information from the ID on the credit card form or otherwise (meaning anywhere). The last sentence gives them the ability to record the ID NUMBER (not the entire ID card) only if you don't make the credit card available upon request. It doesn't say they can have a photocopy of the ID. They can just have the ID number.

"... provided that none of the information contained thereon is written or recorded on the credit card transaction form or otherwise. If the cardholder pays for the transaction with a credit card number and does not make the credit card available upon request to verify the number, the cardholder’s driver’s license number or identification card number may be recorded on the credit card transaction form or otherwise."

Regarding the remote trigger cable, it sounded from the 1st post like we could only choose between RED or Arri, but I've got an Ursa Mini Pro and it uses a LANC cable for remote triggering. I'm guessing the RED and Arri cables won't work for me, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
