  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

Hey Chris, what exactly do 15/15mm or 15/19mm Handgrip Support look like? Are we talking option to order either a 15/15mm or 15/19mm Handgrip Support? I thought it was a single design that could accommodate either LW 15mm rods or studio 19mm rods

I got the same design 15/19 handle grip shipped to me with one of their shoulder rigs I purchased a while back, first thing I replaced on the rig. Wasn't sturdy enough for Red/lens/battery weight, better for a DSLR, and the clamp design seemed sketchy.

Another vote for PayPal. That's where my funds are located at the moment and that would make things FAR easier for me.

Edit: On second thought, I will withdraw from the group buy if there's not a PayPal or credit card option. Doing an international wire transfer makes me uneasy.

Like Chris mentioned in the very first thread, theyre not making much on these units and they don't want to eat up paypal and credit card processing fees probably. Completely understandable. I wait out a few more days if credit cards do become an option tho. If not, it is what it is. More important then the discount (already cheap as hell) is the fast we are first in line to receive the product. Tilta is generally pretty good quality for a chinese company.
 
Yeah, I'm not doing an international wire transfer for this. No way to track anything or recoup funds if I never receive my order or have an issue with the system and need to return it or something. Plus, with the bank fees for an international wire transfer it cancels out any savings. Odd that there's no credit card via PayPal option. What is this the 80's?

I've had the Tilta handles for a year or two and as much as they feel like they have some play they seem to be 100% safe. I have had absolutely No slipping on rods or sketchy moments.
 
What's the status on them throwing in the start/stop cable given how many people jumped on the order?

I don't want to look a gift horse here, since I really really really appreciate Chris doing this for all of us, but if it's $50 shipping (and when this item hits B&H, it's gonna ship for free) plus wire transfer fees, effectively the group buy isn't worth anything other than a 'place in line', and that Cinegear video has me a little nervous, is it better to wait until they shake things out? Would love to find out if they add a CC option or if we're really doing international wire transfers and once Chris gets his sample if it does the same mess-ups as the cine gear model.
 
Chris I didn't understand, wasn't the hand grip supportuniversal for both 15 and 19?

Something that needs to be brought up to Tilta, from a logistical point, is that many banks and credit unions will not allow international wire transfers out of security/fraud concerns. I had to jump through a ton of hoops with my bank trying to order from Bright Tangerine because they're located in the UK. Other payment methods would make it much easier for all the members on here to complete thier orders in a timely manner.
 
How much are they charging for shipping in EU?
It's 1331 euro + shipping at CVP.com instead of just 1099$ (985 euro).
 
Trying to figure out the mounting options for the handgrips in order to correctly order accessories. Watching the video it seems like there are three available configurations: no mount (1/4-20 or 3/8-16? Male or female?), rod mount, and rosette mount. What mounting option comes standard with the handgrips? What does the $150 handgrip support look like and do we need to purchase it if we already have arri rosette attachments? Where can I find more information on this?
 
Though I'm not a part of this GB, I did the one for the Tilta Gravity. Only way to pay was via Wire Transfer IIRC. It made me uneasy but it worked out just fine. They held up their end and I had my bank bill them for the fee.

I was OK because the cost savings was so high for the risk involved and it worked as promised. Just wanted to add my two cents.

Woah, so you didn't have to pay the fee? The bank billed them for the fee? And Tilta was okay with that?

I guess people here are uneasy because the cost savings is negligible.

You DO NOT need to pay extra for the gimbal mount or rosette mount (these are very small adapters for the top of the handles and are included). The $150 handgrip support is for attaching to 15mm or 19mm rods.
 
If a spot opens please let me know - I will forward payment before the June 19 date.
