  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

As a thank you sign, I think Tilta should produce the units for this GB as a "Chris McKechnie" edition....lol. Almost 600 units??? Thank you Chris for putting it together, though I seriously hope this doesn't turn out like the DJI's where the 1st impression was cool but units always seem to have problems 3-6months into usage

haha! Yea, I think this is a solid piece of gear, but only time will really tell how it holds up.

RED accents? heheh

haha!

+1 for me, please! These still expected to ship in July?

Yup, they start shipping sometime in July.

I was with Yang yesterday at the Tilta store in Burbank picking up a new top plate from the Tilta system. He told me he would have many of the units at Cinegear to handle and play around with. If this all pans out we are all very lucky.

Next perhaps a group buy for their video transmitter?

Yea...I'm hoping it all pans out for all of us, and I think it will!

I've been working with the Vaxis wireless system and it really has been the most solid wireless system I have ever used. They just announced their new 1000 foot version kit, and that Group Buy is just around the corner. Those who participated in the first Vaxis group buy, if they buy a new 1000 foot kit, they will receive a free Antenna Array.

I just posted a little video Tilta sent me to share on my instagram.

Share this with everyone you know guys! If we hit the 600 mark, I think Tilta will include a camera control cable for everyone!!

Is the rosette adjustable to which direction it faces? I'm pretty sure I also so attachments to 25/30mm rails as well? If so that's going to be amazing for handheld wireless monitors, focus puller could walk around with monitor in hand and use handles to adjust focus/zoom

I see the gimbal rod connectors in the video, but are they included and do they work with other NON-tilta gimbals (e.g. Ronin-M)? Presuming they're not included, how much more are they?

Also, whats the difference between the 18650 batteries and standard AAs? (can the hand unit and handles use regular AAs?)

Does anyone know if all the motors are the same? (e.g. could you link one handgrip to one motor on A-Cam and then one handgrip and another motor on B-cam and basically have two focus units in one kit?)

Does anyone know if they'll be selling handles and single controller motor (EXT1?) separately?... I kinda only need a single handle and motor for shoulder mount/gimble focus and rec-trig...

18650s are bigger and have a higher voltage. Very common, easy to find. They're the batteries that make up the packs that power Teslas.

I'm not sure the rosette can change it's actual direction...I'll check for you.

They do work with non-tilta gimbals and they are included. They units will not be able to use AA batteries, only the bigger 18650's. Yes, the motors can operate independently and I'm almost positive they can work as 2 separate kits with the 2 hand grips if that's something you'd want to do, though I will confirm that for you.

Is local pickup available at the Burbank store to save on shipping?

No, they will be shipping directly to you from China.

Please add me to the group buy

Sweet Christmas! Please try to find this out before the 27th... (and if they'll include the RED trigger cable...)

I am thinking of pulling out (as if that would make any difference on such a list !)

I feel a $100 off is not worth it, I might prefer to wait for the hands on reviews than cashing out $1100 on a unreviewed product.

+1 for the kit (15/19mm Studio/Shoulder Rig Mounting support for Hand Grips - $150 and Extra Motor - $300)
