  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Tilta Gravity Gimbal

Actually the other way around. No Mac yet. PC is available. Just email them. Their customer service is pretty good.

Thanks for the info, just got on their livechat and they responded immediately.

Chris, will you please add me to the group buy for 1 gravity?

Was talking with someone who tried the Armor Man 2 at NAB and he said he wasn't impressed. Since everything is exposed, said he could see it getting snagged on things on set and seems like a cord/arm pincher. Anybody have experience with the exoskeleton style support? Quality of the build? How well does it reduce footstep translation? How's it's doorway clearance? Little nervous about purchasing something without trying it first.

Have worked with the easyrig, not a fan but does relieve the weight. I'm a tall guy so doorways and low ceilings have been a definite issue, plus the translation from footsteps if not using the flowcine.

Not 100% sure on flying the Alexa...though of any gimbals out there, this would be the one that could do it. I would think it would be doable...I'll ping Tilta for you to see.

Thanks for checking into that! Saw on the forums somewhere here on reduser that they saw them flying an Alexa XT at NAB. It's been the only thing I could find, haven't found any images or real field testing.

Just got my quote from Tilta and it lists only a single battery in the gravity package?
I thought we were supposed to get 2? Anyone else seen similar?
Chris?

Ya, there were a few things that were different on mine too. I responded back asking them about it, waiting to hear back. Shipping was $360 for gravity w/ armorman instead of $300, only had 1 battery instead of the mentioned 2, and I had asked for an additional 1 battery and it was on the invoice for full price (instead of the mentioned 25% discounted price). Better check the list carefully before paying... Anybody else notice anything else missing or wrong?

^ya same here. I am waiting to hear back as well...

That video.  kinda boring. Show us someone walking around at 24fps

Great to see some Gravity footage (and bonus Helium) but I only wish it was real time.... 48 fps is pretty forgiving.
Rig looks great though, can't wait for mine.

Vertical Bounce also with slow motion? I cant imagine how this would be in real time..

Maybe its the operators fault or tuning and not necessarily the system but doesnt cut it as is in this video demo for me.

regards

The combo of easyrig and Serene isnt ideal for very tall operators, so it will be a problem through doorways, realistically speaking, thing is you can overcome this some how by bending your knees when you go through a doorway. Not ideal but with a little creative move and imagination you can go through and still have a valid shot. But if you wear something that is oversized on the sides there is no way around going through a doorway. If its wide its wide , you cant do anything about it , or very liitle.

Have in mind that all systems have a learning curve in how to use them for better results for vertical stabilization. Just like most steadicam top devices, you need to learn the ins and outs and physics and principles in order to produce good shots, same applies at all systems including Serene and easyrig . Also some systems will feel great on you some other wont and that isnt always the quality build , its also your body structure fitting better or worst , that also happens in the best systems out there.

Bottom line, test them all with a tech advice for each one so you know you are doing the right thing. Then decide. Some moves that are possible with one isnt possible with the other. Its all down to ergonomics , and freedom of motion.

New ways are approaching the market , new rigs, so be wise and test before you make up your mind reading posts.

Kind regards

Exactly same situation with mine, noticed that on page 3 of the Gravity manual, it stated 4 x Cross-Bar Adaptor, and 1 x Motion Ejector Adaptor are both missing on the invoice list as well. Though there's a 2 x 25mm Adaptor on the invoice, I woudn't know if this represents the "Cross-Bar Adaptor" (which is listed as 4 units in the Gravity manual.

Also noticed that "Safety case" (which I assume Sophia meant as the hard case) was listed only for Armor man and not for Gravity. Certainly hope Gravity is not getting shipped in paper cartoon like Ronin-M/MX

My invoice is showing the package cost at 2888.00 USD and $210 for shipping. Full $165 for an additional battery. I believe it should be 2775.00 USD and $200 for shipping. I also do not see a case listed. Only one battery listed. I'm responding to Sophia now to see what's going on.

Chris, any idea what could be up?

So my response from Sophia.

"Sorry for confuse you. The shipping cost they make a mistake,it should be 360USD not 300USD. Our package comes with one battery, but yang said it could be come with two battery, so i revised the quotation, also revised the price for battery, pls see attached."

I know we are still getting a good deal but I don't like the change in shipping costs from what was posted here. $360 is a huge sum for shipping and $60 higher than the already high stated shipping price...

Good Catch. I'm also not seeing a case for the gimbal listed on my invoice, and the armorman case also says "Safety Case." I'll ask for clarification on both. She is responding fast at least.

Brenden, that must be a mistake on yours as mine is listed at 2775 on the invoice...

The Armorman 2 def'n has much better door clearance than the Exhauss Exo. The arms sit underneath your arms so it much narrower. I have never had any issues getting snagged on things. I think the build quality is great as well. One of the main features is how quickly it breaks down and compacts into it's case.

Thanks for the quick reply, Chris. Hopefully just some miscommunications amidst the prep for trade shows. Let us know what you hear.

Yea...with Yang not back yet from the shows, I think things are just getting lost in translation since he's having his assistants send those quotes out. No need to worry. All will be taken care of...it's my job to make sure it does
