Hey hey, Travis here.

As the year draws to a close, I’m back with one more hot deal and tax write-off for ya.

The Great Atomos Group Buy of 2018!

Originally put this together to feature the Sumo line of monitors but an opportunity opened up to include a few more Atomos products and I couldn’t resist! As always, my goal is to make the equipment that I use and find particularly helpful more affordable for my friends here at REDuser.

I bought a Sumo last year (for full price) and it’s been a great addition to my kit. It’s a 19” daylight viewable, touch screen monitor with focus peaking, zebra, false color, waveform and more that packs up neatly and can run off bricks! I take it on nearly every job to pair with a wireless setup as a client monitor or hook up directly via SDI so I can sit back and relax during interviews, knowing that my shot is well-framed and in focus.

Like other Atomos products, Sumo can record internally, which gives users the ability to instantly review clips, create proxies with LUTs burned in or apply tags to mark clips for selects. The Sumo can record several flavors of ProRes and DNxHD and certain cameras can even record 4k Raw to CDNG or ProRes.

Sumo also features two XLR inputs, which allows for audio recording directly to the monitor.

My friends at Newsshooter released an excellent, detailed write-up on the Sumo, which you can find here.

https://www.newsshooter.com/2018/01/03/is-the-atomos-sumo19-the-new-heyagashira-of-monitors/

Incredibly, the Sumo being sold at a discount price already, with a $500 instant rebate from Atomos. Our group buy price is IN ADDITION to that, meaning you’ll be able to pick this up for an unbelievably low cost.

Though, I personally suggest purchasing the regular Sumo, I’ve also been approved to include the Sumo 19M as part of this buy. The 19M is similar to the normal Sumo without any of the recording features.

And to top everything off, we are including the legendary Shogun and Ninja products as part of this group buy as well. Much has been written about each of these lineups but if you need a refresher visit https://www.atomos.com to go over specs for each product.

Onto the deal!

If I purchased the Sumo 19M would it be possible to upgrade to the recording capabilities at a later date?

Well, even if it were possible...by the time you pay for shipping, buy the new electronics and cover installation costs at full cost, then spend 2 weeks without your monitor, you'd end up losing money on this deal instead of saving 20%. Do not recommend.

I'll jump in. Sumo 19M here please. I have the recording model, wouldn't mind a 2nd matching monitor.

Surprised not to see this one moving faster - the potential for 20% off would make this a great deal.

I'll get you down. You know I think it's because of the timing. I couldn't get it approved in time to launch alongside the Easyrig group buy but I was trying to get it out before the holidays and just barely made it. People have been so busy with families and other gift purchases. I think it will pick up steam here soon, because it's an incredible deal!
