GROUP BUY ENDS DEC 19!!Tis the season! Want to have the latest in battery technology? Now is the time to save on Switronix's latest battery offering - the HyperCore in both AB & V-Mount options. I'm working with Switronix along with Abel Cine to bring a decent savings of the batteries I've been using for redusers only !

These 98w/h batteries are small enough (weighing only 2 pounds), yet powerful enough to power the Epic/Scarlet for a little over an hour. These batteries can be charged/discharged 1000x which is one of the best in the industry! It has both D-Tap as well as USB ports (USB providing up to 3amp output) so you can power all those accessories you have. The charging takes roughly 3-4 hours, so keep that in mind.

I've been using the heck out of these things and have to say that I'm incredibly happy. One cool added feature is the motion sensor technology. If the battery doesn't sense movement for 48 hours, it will completely shut down, preventing any trickle charge that normally happens with your typical brick battery. When you pull it out of the case, it's immediately activated and ready for use at optimum capacity. For my use, it's great having a smaller brick battery that can give me the run-times I need. I even mount these batteries on my gimbal. Yea, it adds a bit of weight, but it's totally worth the extra run-time. Here's how the pricing breakdown will work. Once the group buy closes, all orders will be placed though Abel Cine - a VERY reputable dealer. You will have 1 week to complete your order. I will get sent a discount code from Abel, then will forward the codes onto those that have committed.

These prices below INCLUDE free USA/Canada shipping. International shipping will be more, prices vary.

Here's the group buy details: Retail price is $1200
5 orders - new price = $1025

10 orders
- new price = $1000

15 orders
- new price = $950

20+ orders
- new price =$900

Package Includes:
(2) 98WH Switronix Hypercore Batteries in either AB or V-Mount options (chosen at checkout). (For those that choose the HyperCore AB mount, you will receive the HyperCore Gold version so it will work on any AB charger!)
(1) XC-2LS Dual Digital Charger
Free Domestic Shipping

In addition to this group buy package and a part of this group buy, you will be able to order additional batteries (retail at $375/battery) at 15% off, bringing that down to $318.75/battery. Battery pack sales increases shipping cost.

Chris,

If I hadn't purchased a whole set of XP-L95's, and some IDX 7s's for gimbal setup, I would be down! Anyway, good luck. I've seen these batteries in person, and talked with Switronix- they seem really exciting! I have their new Jetpack and after a small hiccup (I was one of the people who got were in the first batch) I have an excellent battery backup unit. Seems like if you get enough people, the savings will be worth it for the group buy!

Great job and good luck!

Hey Chris,

I would talk to Abel and get those prices revised, as they clearly are starting at a higher pricing tier than B&H. Those batteries look great and if they start (before discounts) at the B&H level, I will definitely be interested.
Also, just FYI, the Epic, without any accessories, draws about 60W/H. So in real world use, you'd able to get a little over an hour worth of power out of these guys.

I just got the 190wh and get about 2.5/3 hours out of them. amazing batteries so far!

I'm getting close to 1.5 hours. hehe I know Switronix is working with Abel on getting that price lower so stay tuned. I do know that B&H only has that price on black friday, but we'll see what Abel can come up with!

Are those batteries dependent on that charger or can they be used with with more travel-friendly chargers?

So the HyperCore in 3 stud with the green logo charges on switronix's charges only. Then the V-mounts charge on anything.

We do offer an inexpensive(>$50USD) charger, #PB70C. It simply plugs into the powertap on the battery, and you plug it in the wall AC. It has an led for charge indication, and accepts 110-220VAC, so it's perfect for travel. But it is a slower charger at 1A per hour. Besides that, depending on the charger, the battery packs may or may not charge, so let me know what "travel-friendly" charger you have in mind and I can confirm compatibility. We are also coming out with a few models in April/NAB.....oops shouldn't say that:)

I have only had two batteries die on me in 5 years of using them (I have 6 total). I got the 190s to replace them. they have been awesome so far!

Vinny, will the GP-2LSJ charger work with IDX E-7S batteries? They have an extra pin...

I have the Switronix XC-4LSRED Quad Red Brick charger and it works with the IDX too. But now I need another more portable V-Mount charger that works with both Red Bricks and IDX Endura.

Any update on the pricing? Right now it isn't compelling.

Will find out tomorrow. Switronix is trying to get Abel Cine to lower the price...obviously Abel still needs to have a good margin but I would think they can at least start at the B&H price.

Still getting final details. It has been a back and forth. Trying to get the price at the lowest price point, but sometimes, other distributors may be trying to clear stock so they can set a lower price. But again, trying to get that final price lower. Will have something today.

Vinny can you say rather or not these batteries charge on an IDX VL-4s charger? Or if IDX batteries will charge on the Switronix charger in this GB?
