GROUP BUY - Secced Tripod Kits

Thanks again, Tom! I've got a shoot on Sunday that I'd LOVE to have this for. :-)

Hello Again Everybody!
All remaining everything has been shipped, and tracking information updated! Looks like everybody will be putting their new kits through their paces this weekend.

Received yesterday ! Quite surprised and pleased with the value to price ratio here.

Ended up getting the Reach 3... head is very well built, sticks seem strong. Not the lightest in the world - I'm used to using Induro CF when going with 100mm ball, but I think they are very robust.

I wish there was an upgrade kit for a larger baseplate (more surface area/grab area on plate) Top for this particular head, but that problem is eliminated by using an Arri dovetail on top.

All in all very happy so far... and 5 year warranty is awesome ! Do we have to register anywhere for the warranty ?

Thank you Chris and Secced USA for this !

Hello Chris, and Tom,
Need to buy (3) units of either Reach 3 or Reach 4 ASAP for a production here in Nigeria. Know anyone that has in stock for immediate purchase? Need to buy latest tomorrow so it can get here in time for the production.

Thanks

Apart from weight capacity is there any major difference between Reach 3 and 4? Recommending a Reach 4 on a production but the producer is having a hard time accepting it when Reach 3 almost half the price. The camera being use is C300 + Sigma zooms (and Zeiss LWZ.3 when it ships).

Thanks

Hi Abiodun - happy New Year!

For any c300 shoot the Reach 3 should be sufficient.

I like the mid level spreader I added to my set (personally not a fan of the floor spreader for this type of tripod).

I've put a full size Alexa on the reach 3 without problem.

Thanks alot Dan for the info, now back to hunting for in-stock seller!

Hey, my tripod arrived with a case of backlash-how did everyone else make out of their purchase?

Nope. i found the tripod to be worthy of a return. Wouldn't buy a rock from Secced. FYI-"processed in the Pacific Northwest" translates to "Canada." Very misleading.

Personally I use the hell out of mine.

It's not as good as my old O'Connor 1030 heads , but because it's brand new there are some good things about it.

I've already gotten the usage out of it I expected for the price.

However - know there are some other great heads out there for "cheap" the big sirui head seems amazing , the big E-Image heads are good.

Manfrotto came out with a Nitrogen piston head which seems totally badass for $450... takes 17lbs!

The Secced sticks are great for the price. a little more twist torsionally then Sachtler and O'Connor but it's very minor. The heads on the other hand.... I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Too much bounce back for me. I shoot on long lenses often and it's too noticeable.
