  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: RTMotion Wireless Multi-Channel Follow Focus - Limited Time!

I just wanted to publicly thank the guys/girls at RTmotion. Whoever was involved in this group buy got a steal.
The build and reliability of this unit far exceeds the cost. It's great looking and does its job. The receiver is the lightest, smallest one I've ever seen. The distance blows me away every time I push it to the limit.

Their customer service is A+ when you can get them. I know they are scrambling to meet the demand and I have given them a fare share of jabs on that. Some things are worth the wait. If you can afford the wait, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

Additionally, like RED, the units can be upgraded via firmware and hardware.

Thank you guys for making a great product at an inexpensive cost.

Just got two tracking numbers last night, one from RTMotion and the other from Action Products.
The waiting is over!
 
It looks great! Love to see more steadicam shots with Raptor.
 
I put my deposit eons ago with this "group buy" and I've being waiting for updates from RT motion guys for a long time.
Besides sending me e-mails about customer service improvement and how great is their products they didn't get any reasonable updates.
I didn't get ANY reminder that my unit ready to ship and I have to pay remaining balance.
So I recently contacted them and ASK them what is going on with my purchase - they say that group buy is already done long time ago
and everyone who's paid their balance already get their units.

Like that.

They says like I missed my opportunity to buy for discounted price and now looks like I have to pay full price. Yeah.
I bet if you successfully get $500 without giving anything back why not to try to get another $5000 :) Maybe person is dumb enough?
No one here in BC has these units on sets. No one posted video about using it on youtube or so. So it is technically ZERO outcome.
I am already getting some other people, who's seriously doubt about this company. So looks like I am not quite alone with it.

Do they... exists?

Am I got scammed or what?

I finally asked to get my deposit back - no one responded at all.
I will keep you guys updated about this situation.

Hi Dmitry,

i can't vouch for your particular situation, but i can vouch for Kerry and Kris as A++ on customer service and follow through. it may take them some time to get around to emails and shipping but that's only because they have been swamped by international demand for their next generation Mk 3.1 units.

i received my new unit a week ago and it is truly remarkable with its build quality and performance. it matches or exceeds the operating range of established remote focus units like Preston and Scorpio and the new Mk 3.1 motors are whisper quiet and super-torquey. and of course the MDR is really a feat of electronics engineering - a quarter the size of anything else available on the market.

i am super-happy and all of my months of waiting and impatience all faded away as soon as i put the new RT on my EPIC and had it smoothly spin the focus gear on my Master Prime - from 200' away through 2 sets of concrete walls :)

all i can say is that RT Motion very much exist and -- exist in Vancouver -- I have 2 of these 3-channel FIZ units now.
You are welcome to come by my shop anytime and give them a test drive.

And don't get me wrong, please, why you get these FIZ when you have such an outstanding lens inventory?
Why for a God sake not Preston or Bartech at least? This is what film people wants on set. This is what they use for decades, I guess.
Things like these RT is for a small guys like me, who's serving VFS students and indy beggars :) ha ha.
Why bother to save dimes up in the air, I'm kidding of course, but you got the idea :)

Dmitry! You emailed me YESTERDAY asking if you could get your unit asap,

I replied with...

Hi Dmitry! Sorry if things have not been clear for you? We took final balance payments on August 10th and shipped units approx 1 month ago... people who paid after this deadline has been shipping these past few weeks. Sorry if this was not clear to you? If you will wish to continue with your order... I will have to speak to my colleague about whether we can still offer the deal or not..?

If you didn't get the emails asking for the balance payment - sorry about that, maybe you changed your email address or it got caught in your spam filter?

There's no way that this is a con, every single group buy unit paid for has now shipped, and there's no way we'd keep your deposit if you opted out :) I don't see where you even asked, but I see there's a couple more emails from you after I went home last night so I'll check them soon.

And yes there are a few others who didn't pay the balance payment so we still hold deposits-- on the one hand, it's unfair to the customers who paid earlier if we just treated them the same. But of course, once the next batch of units is assembled (in 1-2 weeks) we will get back in touch to see what people want to do,

Pieter! Glad you're so happy with the new version.

I noticed you have Cabrio zooms. Would you be interested in..

1) A tiny receiver, i.e. even smaller, which had a socket which connects to the cabrio, and other internal focus zooms? i.e. you'd use the same handset, just different receiver. It could also have a port for 1 rt motion motor maybe.

2) A dongle (about the size of a pp3 battery) which went between the AUX port of the existing receiver and broadcast lenses, to accomplish the same thing?


Is number 1 worthwhile? Or should we just concentrate on number 2 which is on the cards any way?

Never mind Kris. Just refund my deposit (I'm pretty sure you can - do you?). We done with that. You already said that I'm sort of missed my deal. Sure I have to be more responsible and accurate with tracking my emails. And I bet you are so busy that you cannot physically get back with personal attention to every single clients. it is probably not worth it - why bother? I'm glad about others who's already enjoying your stunning product (which I never saw in real) and AAA++++ customer service, but I'm now stick to the other company, who's get back to their client extremely fast and reliable. And they on market for decades :) Thanks.

Dmitry, I'm sorry about your experience. It appears there are many Redusers who would've loved to be a part of this group buy (myself included) but missed it. Anyone else? Would love to buy someone's groupbuy if they're no longer interested. PM me please!

Come on Dimiti.."calm blue ocean"..no group buys are scams and if you want to you can always get your deposit.
But it sounds like they are still willing to honor your group buy order once the fully paid orders are all out in 2 weeks or so.
But if you needed it yesterday then it's not appropriate for you.

Guys far be it for me to speak for RT..if I am off about this sure they will jump in...but I get the feeling they want to wrap this group buy thing by the end of this year.
and it would be difficult to switch since the orders would be totally different in scope and size. And this
was already a large and long group buy....but that is often how they wind up. There was a 40+ steadicam group buy a month or 2 before this
one and people paid 100% at the beginning because it was 50% discount and some of those still haven't been delivered.

I don't question the integrity of RT or their products. The testimonials from those with units alone has my vote of confidence. I also understand issues with keeping up with demand and their subsequent delays. But if the order remains the same, and someone such as Dmitry wants out, is it not possible to switch places without hindering processing times? Win win win for all parties... Dmitry who wants out, PC Green who wants in, and RT who maintains the original order.

You're right though Steve, I can't speak for RT and how this may affect the order... just thinking out loud.
 
I was part of the proline GB, and missed this one as I was out working. If there is another GB, I have cash waiting.
 
Thanks for your concern for RTM Steve, but unless his order is huge, I'm sure we could handle it without it being an issue for all actually involved. :)

Right now we have a buyer who couldn't wait any longer, & another one happy to pick up the slack and make both parties happy for a win win scenario.

I look forward to Mr. Burenoks & RTMs thoughts on the matter...
