  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: RTMotion Wireless Multi-Channel Follow Focus - Limited Time!

Thanks, Max, nice to meet you too! I think at that point I was losing my voice from talking too much ;) I think people will be really impressed now with where the build quality and wireless link strength is- we were getting comfortably 200ft+ (as far as was practical to test) through the crowds and booths full of every wireless demo you can imagine with zero dropouts, big thumbs up.

Hi!! They're shipping by the day, won't be long, promise... :) We were pre-booked for IBC and had to go over to support our new distribution partners MK-V, cut our trip down to just a couple days so we could get back and carry on with fulfillment. p.s., zero stock is being released to any one else until we clear your orders. MK3.1 orders taken at IBC by our partners MK-V are 6 weeks leadtime at a new (slightly higher) price. Just to be clear, every system leaving us from now is a MK3.1, including all group buys.

Justin yours is in the next 5, shipping Monday!

Manual is at... http://media.rtmotion.com.s3.amazonaws.com/support/RTMOTION-LCS-MK3x-MANUAL-2013-09-05.pdf

Kris

Kris, I guess all I really wanted was a real date. When that date or week you gave me kept going past it was bad. Especially when I had to form over more money for a rental. Communication is the key to good business. I was really put over the edge when I knew nothing would ship while IBC was going on and that yet another job goes by with the need to rent one.

I'm sure you are a great guy and I can't wait for this thing!

Now send me this darn thing so can stop my rants. Send me a sticker too.

Please...

Agreed the manual is well laid out. But even better is that the whole system is so easy to use, you really don't have to refer to the manual!

Kris, it is a very well written manual with lots of useful information including the pin-outs for each connectors.
Kudos to you!

Can anybody give a ballpark to what the signal range is on the new RF3-Generation wireless modules is? I had a look at the manual and it said "From MK3.1 onwards, devices include our latest RF3-Generation wireless modules - settings: USA MAX - Maximum Range legal in USA. EU MAX - Maximum Range legal in EU and most of the world." I am wondering range wise how this unit might perform on the kind of ranges an octocopter mounted camera might be operated (5m-200m approx)

Posted couple pages back...

....I also have some news to announce soon regarding distribution through a very well regarded partner, so that'll significantly help with availability and support per-region! oh, p.s., the units have a revised radio module, theoretical range over 1Km, with "tested" ranges over 400m.

Anyone having problems communicating? I've sent a number of emails to RTmotion without a response. I made my reservation and downpayment with everyone else.

I dont work for RTMotion but I know Kris is busy, he's always gotten back to us when he can, and the kit is very good.

Zarek, you should've already paid your balance last month. Check your old email from Kerry at RT motion sometime around late July.

Loving my new RT Motion - this thing is truly an amazing piece of engineering. Build quality and everything about it is fabulous!

Now onto some questions for fellow owners/ RT Motion - Is mapping and storing lenses not an option yet? Can't find it anywhere and I'm thinking it is going to be an included feature in a future firmware update.

Next question, the numerical value you see when moving the controller focus wheel, what exactly does that represent in the current firmware? Meters, inches, feet. Random values lol. Just trying to grasp that. Will you guys implement an option for feet or meters?

Does the motor response speed only effect the delay between the controller and the motor or is it supposed to increase/ decrease motor speed?

can the motor be calibrated to speed up or slow down racks? Thanks :)

Did you guys get tracking notices for your deliveries or did they just show up?

But I was assured by RT Motion that I would get mine by middle of August at the very latest...and I paid in full on July 29th....

I notice you already got your unit, congratulations!

I paid in full on July 8th and I was told by RTMotion on September 4th that "yes you are very high on list, first batch!".

I guess you were on the batch before the "first batch" :)

If it makes you feel any better, I paid in full on June 2 and am still waiting. I was told a couple weeks ago that it should ship between Sep 18-25, so here's hoping...

Now that these units are starting to ship, would there be any interest in a custom case for this system? It would be similar to the one that we made for the Bartech system. Hit me up at jason@CinemaOxide.com or drop a post here so we can gauge interest.
