Ok I have looked at it for a bit longer...
And yes it superfiscally works but on closer inspection it seems like I am doing somethign wrong .
does everyones infinity and min focus line up with the end stops? (Test lens is a 35mm Art Sigma 1.4)
Do
You're a smart cookie Scott ;-)It it is my understanding that the distance markings on still lenses are not precise, and my experience has been the same. I can't speak to the Sigma specifically.
It is also my understanding that Optitron's calibration maps what would be the full rotation of the barrel to the full rotation of the Optitron. It is not attempting to map the minimum focus point to infinity. Those to points and the extremes of barrel rotation are not necessarily the same thing.
For these reasons I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you can achieve full rotation from Optitron without slamming the shit out of the lens, or coming up short on focal extremes it is probably working correctly.
Maybe Jacek will confirm or deny this.
